Re: Why buffer?
fark.
had one of those myself. main memory is how fast it happened. tradie in a ute.
did an instructed ride with HART and the thing they emphasise is buffering, especially on crests.
PS why film yourself?

I've had a few people question why I buffer away from potential danger allover the road when riding. This demonstrates it quite well![]()
"Taking a buddy Karen out for her first sportsbike ride... A ute (Toyota Hilux?) comes around a blind corner on my side of the road and misses by... Well, it looks like a few inches. I had to run off into the gravel and grass, thank fuck the BMW S1000RR has ABS!
The disturbing thing is, if he'd run us off the road and we'd been injured or killed, it would have gone in the papers as "single vehicle accident, rider lost control of 1000cc sportsbike, speed was a factor." So think about this clip next time you see those words in a newspaper!"

that's Loz from Netrider in the clip
I live with fear everyday but on weekends she lets me ride.

Re: Why buffer?
Its something that should just occur naturally - I know sometimes I just *buffer* without even thinking about it ?Glen wrote:.... It's the simplest thing to do and the most effective at keeping yourself out of shit but with a couple of exceptions you rarely see anyone do it.......
