had one of those myself. main memory is how fast it happened. tradie in a ute.
did an instructed ride with HART and the thing they emphasise is buffering, especially on crests.

On my ps course/test the instructor taught us when going over a crest there's 2 directions danger could come from, and right was the scariest because the closing speed to a car from the right is twice that from one to the left, so stay left going over a crest.

I've had a few people question why I buffer away from potential danger allover the road when riding. This demonstrates it quite well

.... It's the simplest thing to do and the most effective at keeping yourself out of shit but with a couple of exceptions you rarely see anyone do it.......

Its something that should just occur naturally - I know sometimes I just *buffer* without even thinking about it ?
