You could read his cartoons 3 or 4 times back in the day, and spot something new every time ! I haven't done any of his *classics* yet, they are piss-funny as well, and require some detailed examination of every frame....

I think somewhere in the library is an actual compilation of all his best cartoons, I should just find that and go on a scanning frenzy.....

I never got into Captn Goodvibes mate, despite coming from Newie and being a finback from wayback. Always enjoyed a good surf, and used to read Tracks every now and then.....

I worked at Revs back in the '80s and Eric & Douglas was controversial even in the office. We used to get letters from readers complaining that they couldn't leave the mag lying around in case their kids picked it up and saw E&D. One of my colleagues at Revs was Ross Inglis, nice chap, who one day made the mistake of complaining to Silvestro that his cartoons were too smutty and that maybe he should tone them down. Ross appeared in Louis' next cartoon with people doing unspeakable sexual things to him - and it was the last time he complained. I think the bearded guy was Esdaile, but Mike didn't have a beard when I worked there.
Many years later when my kids were young, someone gave them a junior Macquarie picture dictionary ... A is for Apple stuff, and the pictures were all drawn by Silvestro. I studied every picture but couldn't find a stray dick anywhere.
I also had a copy of that compilation book - called Eric & Douglas' Best Shits, but I must have lent it to someone.

Was about to mention Captain Goodvibes, these remined so much of his adventures.

Dougie makes me think Stig (snr) pre political correctness.

Keep up the great work, these are just priceless and especially the stuff in the background. :kuda:

Yes indeedly - the original straight from 1981 ? or maybe 1982. No print year to be found anywhere...

Anyway, for those that don't know - this is the Best of Eric & Doug. 56 pages of the most classic cartoons from REVS.

I will start posting these up shortly, in order. These include the very first E&D that Silvestro did.......classics !
