Just saw on 10 News that shutting down a few of the cameras near schools is being met with oposition by a few people and the Pedestrian Council.... Apparently they may be left in place and warning letters issued, but no revenue will be raised. Duncan Gay when questioned about replacing them with covert cameras, said he is not about hiding ;)

Dont matter how you look at it, they are gone, as they all should be, they are a blight on the roads & do nothing for safety. I glad Barrys had the balls to do it. !!!!!
Now spend some money on driver training & up the speed limits on better roads & things will be rosey.. IMO

The cameras that are in my area on that list I cannot see them making much money. 3 big signs before each camera.

what they are not telling us is how many 'safety' cameras they are bringing in. These are definately going to be brining in more $$.

either way, I cannot see the state doing something which is actually benifical to us and not a cash cow for them :?

had the misfortune to have to ride to mossman yesterday (from the greater south west) and had the absolute misfortune to go on the m2; what a frigging joke, and they have the hide to charge for it! then military road (ffs, north shore people must have their eyes sugically moved to their arse to keep their brains company), nearly got cleaned up by several muppets in mercs on 2 mobiles. then planned to come home via the tunnel, ed and m5. just my luck the m5 east tunnel was blocked by a broken down taxi and muppet cage drivers, so i decided to go on the hume highway; at least i got home in some sensible time, but from ashfield to chullora, the road is tar over (i suppose) old concrete; enough to shake my fillings out and induce double vision!

money spent on better roads, now thats a joke; but unfortunately i will probably die before its fixed!

I cant believe they are catching anyone at all. Geez, 3 signs before them and still people get caught? So if you havent already driven past the camera before (otherwise you know about it) it means you have ignored the 3 warnings.... they deserve the ticket IMHO!

The thing we should be fearing most is the Highway Patrol hiding in the bushes. Something you cant do much about except watch your speed which is the easiest way to avoid the pain.

Wonder if Queensland has bought them. They announced this week that they are introducing shit loads of new ones for QLD. :?
