Quite a few are, and prevention of these is part of the police forces discretionary powers.

Not sure what you mean Paul?
Deanoseadog wrote:Actually they aren't. Traffic offences are not considered criminal offences......yet.
Depends on the offence. What about dangerous driving causing death? Manner dangerous? Driving without due care? Should I continue?

It would be great if police actually policed dangerous and poor driving skills on our roads..People cutting in and nearly wiping people out, wandering lanes and running red lights..hardly ever see people pulled up for that stuff
Instead theyd rather hide behind bushes with their radars catching people doing minor speeding offences..

Instead theyd rather hide behind bushes with their radars catching people doing minor speeding offences..most of the time where they have reduced the speed limit for seemingly no reason other then to book people travelling at a fair and reasonable speed

There, fixed

Yes, we have one were I live at kellyville..a piece dual carriage road at kellyville(windsor rd) where the road conditions do not change yet the limit changes from 80 to 60 which is really just a speed trap.. Most days a cop sits there catching unsuspecting motorists because it pays big for them..they also placed a plastic barrier there a few months back so they could hide their car behind it..Ohh yeah its on a downhill too so you can easy drift over slightly and bang, they have their prize..
Is this piece of road dangerous you ask?? Without doubt it is one of the safest pieces of road in our area..Smooth as a babys bottom and big wide lanes..it defies belief..
Im sure any hills residents know the piece of road im talking about..They are truly pathetic and clearly lack the manhood to go and do some real police work..

the problem is, since the coppers have taken the line that all speed kills, they have to police all these areas, and not just the areas where it is stupid to speed... if they didnt police these areas, their argument would be exposed for the fraud that it is...
im all for nailing dickheads who do stupid things, even if it happens to be me...

Coppers carry out the law that is made by pollies and department think tanks, some actually are over zealous about their directives and should get a life and take up fishing instead for a hobby.

You forget that the Police are merely Public Servants, who are forced to SERVE the Pollies.
You do what your boss tells you to do, just as the Coppa's have to,
what we need is our own Political Party.
Our's would be KSRC (Kawasaki Sportbike Riders Club)
Instead of the Pollies version of KSRC (Karn't Stop Robbing Cunts)
Seriously though, form your own Party and absolutely sweep into power with 90% of the vote
just by using the campaign slogan "NO MORE SPEED CAMERA'S.....EVER!

And a radar on an unmarked bike prevents these?

If you don't where or when you may get caught or by whom this will potentially alter your behaviour as despite popular belief most people actually don't want to get caught by the police. If you know where all the cameras and police cars are then you will know where you can speed and where you can't. Actually we have that it NSW with all the marked cameras, people just slow down then speed up again.
In NSW anytime someone from this and other forums that has seen this picture will wonder if the silver and blue BMW up ahead is an undercover bike and will not do the wheelie or crack the sound the barrier, job done without having a presence and without having to hand out a ticket. It won't change a person's attitude that can only come from better training but it will modify the behaviour of some.
As I say time and place, I am not an advocate of the current enforcement policies but I also accept that there is no point about complaining about breaking a law if you knew what you were doing.
Hoffy, being an old local (Castle Hill) the only place I can think of where they changed the speed limit to 60 around Kellyviell is from where the Fire Station is up to Memorial ave. Two reasons why they would dare do this is the Fire station has to access Windsor road and the Kellyville shops which has a lot of turning traffic and has been known to have a few rear enders. If that aint the place then you got me.
