Theres plenty of guys down south who can probably help you out mate. As Wayne said though if you want to travel Glenn at Allfixed will steer you in the right direction and won't charge for anything he doesn't do.
I guess the question to ask is how much the bike owes you and how much you're willing to spend to get it right. Having had some recent experience pouring money into dead ends I can empathize.
Good luck with it.

Valve clearence and a carb balance would solve most of the running problems you describe. Fresh fluid will work wonders on the brakes (often does not get changes for years). Which gaskets are missing? Does it leak, make noises or just have gaps?

4 Gaskets that separate the air box from the carbies.

Some high temp gasket goo will suffice.
Or some thin o-ring material cuttl length with a bit a goo around it if some available

Re: Gday, New, Need Help, Introduction
Thanks guys, warm welcome here, i am so depressed about my bike and there is nothing more i want then to get it riding. So i am going to order a compression tester kit in the next few days so i can actually get some progress.
Re: Gday, New, Need Help, Introduction
hey mate i know how you feel, i've been having the same issue with a lot of bike shops except my bike is a stunning example of a 96 zx7-r and its not an import! to date i've spent $7000 on fixing and mods, + the $3000 that i paid for it. just a few little gremlins to sought out, and its all good. i've been told by friends and mechanics its a money trap, just get rid of it. but i'm a big believer in "what goes around comes around" so to sell it to some poor chap with problems is not an option. anyway good luck wih the rebuild hope it all works out, p.s. check out the pics in the show off your ride section under "96 ZX7R STILL GOING STRONG"Tilley1991 wrote:Gday guys, my names Brad i am new to the forum, not new to forums, 19 years of age, apprentice fitter and turner.
The reason i joined this forum is pretty simple but if the atmosphere is right i will be around for the long haul, i have a 1990 ZXR250, and its a piece of shit, every single bike shop that i call tells me that they wont even take the time to look at my motorbike to get it running properly.
Now, i am honestly here to get some help, because i have decided that i want to keep my bike and i want to have it running and i am not going to palm off a bike with so many problems to some poor L plater that is going to end up getting himself killed in my place.
Well thats a little about me, why i joined, any questions and id be happy to answer them, just thought id start with an intro.
