thanks for the good wishes folks.

just a quick update, it appears the Rex will be written off, so unfortuantely one less dinosaur walking the earth! Good news is the insurance position looks good so I can replace it if I choose to, I understand that I also have salvage rights to the wreck, but I doubt I'll take them up on it as I can't deal with the projects I have. We should have a decision by early next week.

At this stage I'm not sure what I'll do as I know you can't get the beasties new any more, I would never have sold it but I'm not 100% sure I'll replace it. I may end up spending some of the money on my track bike, and do more track days, possibly even consider some St George class or other in the short term at least, I don't think i'll survive without a road bike in the picture at some stage though.

I think the police have decided it's my fault from a traffic perspective, interestingly, that does not mean it was my fault from an insurance liability point of view, I doubt the police will change their view but insurce look likely to check the video so we'll see what happens.

I still haven't seen the wreck but it's at Collide-a-scope in Hornsby (where do I know that name from 8) ), so far a big thumbs up to insuremyride.

Cheers
Matt

Never good to hear of another one biting the dust man,but at least you came out the right side.......up!
Shame bout the Rex,sounds like anothery for parts.
May i suggest when you get another one,put the dough to an 1100 and blow the whatever is left on doing it over.Having owned both 11 and 12 for decent periods of time i will forever maintain that the 11 is the overall, that's overall, better bike.
Just my opinion.Get well soon man.

Hey Stu, interesting comment 11 Vs 12's. What makes you say that? Not arguing, just interested in the comment and reasons why?

Mate its a win win for you. You can replace the rex with another at the moment, they are priced well. & get the wreck & use it as a track bike, & run it in st george. Phil lovett runs a naked bike of some kind & does very well on it. I think its a KTM twin motard thingy. There are plenty of them running. So thats my opinion. Glad your ok too.

Well folks, it's official, the Rex is dead, got a call from the insurance company today saying cheque is in the mail, arrived home and had a letter from the RTA, bike is a statutory write off, phark, no road bike and two track bikes, what the hell happened

Anyways, we are moving house so no roady for the time being, just too much to do so decision will be deferred for a couple of months.

BTW, big thumbs up to Insuremyride.

Matt

And they say riding track improves your road capabilities?
