What a carnt ! :x ......If you paid via paypal lodge a dispute straight away. Like blackster said you may be required to ship motor back to the USA at your expense. Good luck with the dispute case.

Hey Glen,

That's a shit mate, sorry to hear.

Who is the seller, do you mind exposing them ? What is their rating like ?

Generally speaking what we like about fleabay is the ratings, you put in the hard work and by right the ratings should reflect that. We do stuff up from time to time, just like anyone else, but we do go to great lenght to fix things up when we do.

Unfortunatelly Ebay and Paypal are huge and when things go wrong, the burocratic side of nonsense is hard to combat.

Hope you get some of the $s back,

Thanks guys, I've lodged a dispute through Ebay protect but yep I think they are going to want the engine sent back to the US. Even if I do that the most I get back is the cost plus freight ie $1400. I had to pay the customs shit to get it in ie $700 plus Glenn has spent two days on this piece of shit. For me now to send it back it has to be pulled out of the bike, all the bits off mine transplanted out of it and then I've got to freight it back to the US which will be at least $400, so really it's not worth it.

I'll plead this case to Ebay but I've got an ugly feeling the arsehole seller is just going to deny everything and claim that I'm trying to run a scam to get a cheap motor. In the end it's really just my word against his so I'm not hopeful. I got a message from him this morning still pleading that there's nothing wrong with the motor.

Options going forward are to either wait for a complete 07/08 to come up at a wreckers and make one out of two and try and recoup some costs by selling bits, or give up, part it out, salvage what we can and buy a new tracky.

Either way it sucks.

Once I get a resolution of the Ebay dispute I'll out the bastard, although his feedback on Ebay is all good. There's even one there from me after I received the engine saying how good the service was  (I wish I could change that now)

As far as i know they didn't pull it apart. The fact that the bloke has lied to me twice about how they started it without a starter motor tells me he's full of shit. I'm going to query it with the customs clearing agent though.

Who knows. The bottom end in the one we bought looks like it's crap, but then we don't know what damage has been done to the bottom of Chris's. I think the labour involved would be prohibitive anyway and I don't think I'd tackle it myself.
