I've been down the road in leather - dont care much to do that in shorts t-shirt

. Minimum I will wear is Dragons and my Joe Rocket Rio jacket. Thats only for short trips though, other wise its leather pants and Textiloe Jacket with full armour or Full leathers with armour.
But I also beleive everyone should be able to do their own risk assessment and dress accordingly.

over here in WA the go seems to be squidding is the correct way. Have seen so many blokes about on cruises and the like shirt shorts thongs
will admit i do ride in shorts occasionally but still wear everything else, but when i do i'm only putting down to the shops otherwise its full leathers or kevlar jeans

We saw a heap the same today, all on custome POS cruisers with shorts and t shirts - and nearly crashing everytime a corner appeared. Thats just scary

i'm sensible (these days...LOL) but i'm not fuckin' paranoid!!!
always wear jeans & i'm so used to boots & gloves on the controls i wear them too
if it's a cookin' hot day & i'm on the highway i'll wear a vented armored jacket & crank my cruising speed up a notch to get some wind
but if i have to ride in town when it's really sweltering, then fuck it, the jacket comes off.....
at least i'm cooler so more alert...don't think passing out from heat prostration while riding a bike would have a great result either...LOL

For hot days I make sure at minimum I wear my newest helmet (1989 I think it's stamped??), and my heavy duty, but ultra ventilated Billabong Thongs, a good solid pair of Henley Shorts (The camo pair look good with the Rex), a 98 Denier Mossimo T-shirt (Which I know works as I had it under my gear when I crashed on Mt Hotham and it never holed) and my Mark Ecko watch with the big dial so I can tell what time I need to leave the Cafe. But, I do tend to be a little overprotective with my riding gear, as you just can't trust other drivers you know!

Change to leathers when it's warn enough. I got one of those RSA leather jackets with the neoprene up the inside of the arms to help keep cool. Always wearing the leather jacket/gloves and bike boots at the least, but occasionally only in jeans instead of the leather pants.

I just bought a set of these off this bloke.
http://www.motobestprice.lowpricebuilde ... 437555.htm
They are only good for over 20' other wise they are to cold.
Also only really good for around town & casual touring IMO.
But the couple of times I have worn them on hot days they have been fantastic & cheap at around $280 for Jacket & pants.
Other wise its leather all the way.

I would never wear leather again when ridding in Queensland. I bought a mid value leather jacket to try and do the right thing. 2 hours into the ride, 2L of water drunk and 30 degree heat I was nearly dead. My brain and body was so cooked that I was happy to ride home in torrential rain just to keep cool. Rain completly F**ked the jacket and I was happy to throw it away.
I always wear Summer textile\armour jacket, Dragon jeans, Allstar gloves and leather boots.......with my helmet too.

I find that the worst bit for me with leathers is the once ya hop off the bike bit... no more soothing airflow..

having also had the unfortunate experience of bitumen surfing in full leathers, I am with Phil here....
