Hey Philbo

Have a look at your exhaust... The headers link into the silencer box then the pipe connects to it. It weighs about 7-8kg. Comes off with only a few bolts removed but you need a link pipe to attach to the headers and your pipe. The M4, Akrapovic and Im sure a few others can be supplied with that link pipe. The only issue on the roady is you can lose some back pressure and hence low end pull but gain some top end (hence why the tracky has it off and I left it for the roady). But if you spend up on a PC etc Im sure it can be rectified. In saying that, 600's have come along way in the last few years but really your missing cc's compared to the bigger bikes so IMO a slip-on is all you need and if you want alot more get a 10 ;)

sweet cheers firey, already have a yoshi slip on on it atm but still is pretty quiet, will have a look at this tomorrow and see what can be done, will prob be changing the gearing anyway.
Meh i'm more than happy with my 600 still fast enough to gimme a buzz every time :kuda:

After owning a Gumby, the 10's are ballistic but the 6 is great fun. More than happy :kuda:

Unless you are chasing .05 of a second around the Island, I'de be leaving the stock system on it.

My intent of changing away to the akrap is not to make it louder. I already have the M4 on my bike and that is pretty loud. I think people make excuses for wanting a louder pipe saying it will help cars see them? Unless your driving in between cars, I don't think it will make any difference. It's a sports bike not a harley.
All I'm looking for is to create a little more back pressure than with the M4 which should give me a little more down low. More than likely I'm expecting too much and won't even notice any difference. As for a PCV, I have put that on hold and will see how the bike responds. Pretty sure I won't need it. Rather spend the money on some track days as a forum member pointed out. Pretty good advice I think.

Sounds like you need a TRE to put back timming in the lower gears to improve responce/torque in the lower/mid rev range.

Received new Akrapovic exhaust and link pipe yesterday and couldn't help myself. I had to install it straight away. Not much work as already removed stock exhaust and M4 not hard to remove. Came with all new seals, unlike the M4. I like the sound better than the M4, reminds me of my old pipe on my old 97 zx6r that I had. Even though the M4 gave the bike cleaner look, I still prefer the new Akrapovic pipe.
Also piked up a K&N air filter and installed also. Don't think the bike needs a power commander. She's running fine atm.

If you can find a dyno day $50 will make sure you're fine with a/f ratios without the cat. Weather or not you NEED to I've got no idea :lol:

Not a bad idea of tim's to get the a/f checked. Especially if you take it to the track and up it a bit as the fuel leans out the higher you get.

Other than that I agree cool looking pipe. Actually the only pipes I like more ATM are the M4 full slip like what Firey has on his tracky.

If you get the PCV get the auto tune module. Negates the need to get a dyno tune.

Wouldn't it be better just to get a dyno tune than get an auto tune?

I was told that if you get the PCV that you need to get another O2 sensor. Is that right?

The auto tune is the O2 sensor. Constantly adjusts your bike.

Sorry just re read your post and noticed you still have your standard headers with cat and o2 sensor. You'll be fine, the oem ecu will sort it out. ;)

It doesn't matter as I have put on hold for now anyway.

Where can I get PCV and autotune cheap? Apparently PCV from usa is not same as here.

Was actually looking for a nice heat shield to cover akrapovic link pipe. Any ideas? Was thinking of using original heat shield but don't have anything to bolt onto.
