I don't recommend this to anyone but I have tried using my left hand on right bar to rest my right when it gets sore on long trips, that really messes ya up :?
I dont do it anymore as I revised my riding position and use a throttle rocker. Much safer ;)

Thing is with counter steering you are all doing it without thinking about it, soon as you think about it and if you don't understand it will mess with ya head a bit.

And Motorcycling is dangerous, I learnt something today 8)

If you struggle with counter steering, DROP YOUR ELBOWS and try again. It's the first body position thing I was taught, and I nearly speared off the track on the first go.

I first practiced counter-steering on a straight bit of road - like doing the 'tire-warmup' thing.

For the newb's - if you're able to ride a twisty section of road at anything close to (or more) the speed limit, then you're counter-steering whether you know it or not.
Learning to do it consciously will improve your cornering immensely.

if you rode a pushy as a kid, and you ride a motorbike now you already know how to countersteer and already do it, perhaps somewhat poorly..

Its the timing and control of the procedure that leads to greater cornering ability..

I figured out counter steering a while ago..

If you pulled a pube on the left side of stace's junk he'd move to the right and vice versa.

Try it on him next time you see him

I'd argue that thread was funnier... I do my best to entertain. :)

And in my defense, I tried to counter-steer out of it.
