The way that statement reads would have you believe that Maxwell crashed into faubel... I got the impression faubel cleaned him up from behind :?

Just a politically correct statement from a publicist in an effort to save Maxwells marketability and reputation. If FIM label him as a bad boy they could hurt his international career movements.

Yeah, if he had personal sponsorship and could get them to pay for a ride he'd be able to get away with it. As it is, he probably needs to be a bit more careful, as much as I can understand him doing it.

100% correct, if Wayne had maintained his stance of the post incident interview than his profile would be shot internationally. Smart move was to cop the fine release a well worded statement and move on hoping that the world will forgive and forget.

Fact is it was unsportsmanlike short and simple, in racing accidents happen sometimes your fault sometimes not so get over it.

Fact is at that moment he had no idea whether it was Faubel's fault or not. How many times has a rider been taken out, by a rider who themself was taken out? Maxwell could well have been the last in a line of 3,4 or 5 domino's, with faubel merely the one preceding him. For that reason alone it was a dumb move.
Writing to Faubel to apologise is OK, but a real man would have gone and apologised in person, I hope he did that!

Yeah, I would've done that first, then if it wasn't going had a go at the other bloke....he'd barely stopped sliding and he was running over to thump the other fella  and it's not like he didn't get it going again...
