Mate if you want to sell that bike for the amount of a pair of OHLINS I'd be interested. I want a ZRX track bike.

Bonester,
Thanks for the offer, but what would I do with the shocks then......
Nah, worth a bit more than that to ME, thats why I didn't trade it, OH & because I am not allowed

No freakin way I'd sell a ZRX for $2k either. You'll probably get 200000km out of it before it needs an engine rebuild!

Just found this thread...I bought the bike with Ohlins rears and internal valves and cartridge fronts and have to say, the beast handles very well. With the hydraulic rears, as Phil said there is limited adjustment in compression, the rebound has full adjustment, but saying that the compression is very noticeable when you use 1 click (only 4 to use from soft to hard). If I had to buy them I would opt for Phils, much better in adjustment. Still when I need some more preload its there with a few twist and done. What ever you decide I think ya gunna notice a huge difference.
Gotta luv 125Nm at the rear wheel and 140 Hp as well.. 1 tooth down on the front and 3 up on the back with Pod filters and stage 3 jet kit and full Muzzy Meg exhaust and folk brace and ignition advancer and Heavy Duty clutch.... the list goes on and on and on....

Its a Delkevic, not sure if they are made in China or nor. I had it sent from the US ages ago when I had a hole last time. Apart from not all the holes for the shrouds lining up, everything else seems OK. I will be getting the OE one repaired to use as a spare.

The Delkavics come in Pommy packaging, I bought one from Delkavic Australia.. But mine was built 15mm out of square top to bottom, Delkavic Australia replaced it pronto, but since none were avail in OZ they airfreighted it straight from the manufacturer (excellant service, as they did this on my word before I had returned their unit) & it turned up direct from China with all the Chinese quality control paperwork inside box.
Meanwhile I emailed Gazi last nite & had a prompt reply this morning from Paul Bushnell. He states T-Rex are using his equipment & the topline Hyper 750 units with 3 way adjustability are $780 a pair + shipping, with stock currently on hand. Definetly food for thought. Not real keen on the thread adjustable pre-load though, as I do change mine for varying riding & load conditions quite frequently.

A mate of mine has just ordered Gazi shocks for his new XR1200 Harley to replace the bloody awful stock suspension. Will be interesting to see how it compares. Bloody thing is unrideable standard. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard and unforgiving. Niceish bike otherwise.
Price is similar to what you quoted. I hadn't heard of them prior to my mate ordering them.

Is the T-Rex you refer to Rex Wolfenden?

If Rex uses them, I'd use em without question.

That would be correct bonester.
I only looked these up & contacted them based on the post by IanH earlier in this thread. Still not 100% convinced yet, but very interested.
As far as the XR1200 Harley goes, rear suspension on any Harley is crap, basically built sans any rebound dampening whatsoever.
Mate up here actually traded his black 2001 ZRX on an XR1200 about 18mths back, he gets a little remorseful when he see's what my ZRX is capable of on the road & on the strip.
I have even managed to get him to make a comment about it around his mainly Harley riding mates, that opened some eye's.
We have had them on the same dyno, the XR punched out 70HP, which was more than the other 2 1480cc (or whatever) & modded Harleys, while the ZRX pulled 132hp

.

Errol, I like the look of the XR1200s - not going to buy one, just like the look.
How do they go on the road - dynos are one thing but real road is another. I'm assuming that you ride with the XR owner.
Cheers,
Tony

Actually they go really well despite the power output. Pretty close in performance to a mate's XJR1300 up to 160ish. Torquey engines can be misleading.
