The old road and putty loop has already been dominated by the KLX once ;)

This time it will be just flogging a dead horse.

Cool, all good. Leave me some tread on the new tyre hey ;)

But more i read more i am crossing it off. the easy rebuilds and stuff would be ok, but im more concerned about having to pre-mix my fuel everytime i filled up. Imagine a putty loop... :?

I think its KLX450 time...

if it blows up, i'll set fire to it and call the insurance company.

cool will have to see whether it worth the upgrade then.

Mine already has the jets and carbs done by Rod.

Me thinks a KTM 530 or Husaburg 510 may rock :kuda:

How hard can it be to carry a 150/200 ml bottle of oil ? Be worth it to run a CR 500 on the road .... Mad

Mate, mixing is ok, biggest hit is 'how much you are going to spend on two stroke oil?' Fuel economy isn't fantastic on a 2 smoke, you gonna be using a fair bit.
Get yourself a 20l drum and buy your first 1l from the servo and just keep refilling the bottle :D

I reckon 2 smoke, from what ive seen their the shit.

Checked that one in Qld on bikesales? mmmmm

Unless you have ridden a big bore 2-stroke, you dont know what time travel is like!

KTM380 is another choice. Lighter and handle better than the 500's, but 95% of the power. Lots around cheap, with rego. 99-on are better. 98 didnt have the decomp in the head and caused broken engine parts trying to start it. Been there.....

There is one on Bike Sales for $4600 and comes with both Motard and Dirt gear.

Yeap looks like the berg, comes with a motard setup as well. Spent most of the morning riding and had no trouble with my knee. It's just easier on my knee which has been the major problem with me getting out on the 9. If I end up buying it I might even get out on the road more. :D The final decision will be when I take it for a couple of laps at Marulan next Sunday.
