I've never ridden a 1000 but is it really that easy to make mistakes like this?

and on the road ! They look like very skilled riders.

WIth the 600 I've opened up the throttle at will / ignorantly and nothing ever happened.

The nine can still bite you if you are heavy handed with the throttle.

Mind you it's not anywhere near as bad as the 10.
As I found out at turn 3 in front of Dave and Russ

Leanne would sell you hers if you wanted to go that way. She's not too fussed if she sells it and gets a newer 600 or keeps it to ride herself, but it's a cheaper option for you and a great place to start for track riding.

Both are hell fast. The 600 is going to eat a few less tyres and a few less litres of fuel. It will also sell faster when the time comes. It is lighter, easier to turn and easier to hang onto for a few laps.
The 1000 is going to be harder on you physically. Harder to turn it, harder to control it and harder to get the most out of it. On the flip side, litre bikes are some serious giggles on a track. You can play with the throttle and have some fun opposite locking it out of turns

, wheelstanding it, smoking it!!
I'd probably opt for a litre bike. But, I have had a shed full of 600's over the years and even spent a few years punting them on racetracks. So for me, the litre bike is where it's at. (Not to say I wouldn't have a 600 trackie if circumstances presented themselves....+ I already have a 600cc racebike....all be it an older one...1996) But the 1000 would be my preference.

Awesome point Marty.
Disco the 600 will be way cheaper on tyres for you where as for a 1000 you maybe looking a a new rear every 2 track days if your lucky.
However the 600's (newer models) arent that much better on fuel these days.

Actually I reckon Chris's 600 chews more fuel than the Gumby (That could be because I'm too scared to open the throttle enough though). However the little bastards have to rev at 14000 rpm everywhere
600's are a shitload of fun and taking Chris's for a spin last Saturday was really good. By the same token you should have seen the smile on Chris's face when he brought the Gumby back in.
Overall I prefer the Gumby to the 6. I'd probably be quicker on the 6 but the 10 is just awesome.

I chew more fuel on my six than the ten but tyres last about 4-5 trackdays on the six whereas the ten used them in about 2.
If you want to learn how to ride get a 600 Disco. It is heaps of fun and slowly teaching me howto get aroubd faster more powerful bikes although at times can be frustrating but thats half the fun. If you want to be a straight line bandit get a 1000. But like me the 1000 will bite you if u f up unlike the six which is a little more forgiving!
No matter which way you go there will be plenty of us lined up ready to get rid of the chicken strips for you

Or at least try too

For you guys saying that you use more fuel on your 600 than you do on your 1000. I wouldn't mind wagering, that if both bikes were ridden to the same level, the litre bike would use more fuel!!!
