Lately I've been thinking about selling my 250R and stepping up to something bigger and with a bit more grunt. Though the 250 is a great starters bike, I don't quite have the same level of fun on it as I used to. So, is there any bike (LAMS approved) that you guys think would be suitable?
The ZXR250 first comes to mind but I not sure if I like the idea of paying top dollar for a 10+ years bike, that's likely to be trashed to shit

There is one at bikebiz, which appears in good condition. It does seem to be overpriced at $6k, esp with other 2nd hands around the $4k mark.

Also, have any of you had any experience with Hyosung? I've been looking at the GT650RL, which seem nice. Just that I've heard that their quality isn't great??
Anyway, if you guys have any thoughts or suggestions they would be appreciated

So...what you are saying is that you are now riding the wheels off your 250 yeah? If not, and don;t take this as nasty, it's not meant to be...but learn to ride!!!!!

Hey thanx for the advice guys. Annoyingly I guess your right

I'll just have to come out for more rides with you guys and have fun doing that
In October I progress from red to green p's, which i'll have for 2 years

I have been to a riding course at EC and i'm itching to get back there again (esp for a track day) but don't have to money to spare for the courses or a track bike at this time.
No worries Mikey, i'll just take a trip down to SA and come ride your 9. Sound good?

I should get there quick with my flux capacitor/nitrous fused 250!

I'm glad I didn't offend you, as it wasn't the desired outcome. But in all reality a Ninja 250 is a fecking awesome bike. If you were really getting the most out of it, you may not actually wish to sell it!! There is something fiendishly fun about hosing a bunch of 600cc+ sports bikes up a tight road on a 250!

I still vividly remember riding a mate's girlfriend's ZZR250 up the Reefton, with two other mates who were riding new ZX6Rs. Oddly enough, the little ZZR summitted first.

I still giggle everytime I think about it. It was bang smack in the middle of when I was racing, so the reflexes were sharp and the little ZZR lost a lot of paint and several grams of steel and alloy before we stopped at the top!

My mate's girlfriend was wrapped, as her tyres looked like she had done a track day and gave her real street cred at the Marysville Bakery on her next few visits.

You are right. Lately I haven't been able to get out riding as much as I want too. Been busy with work and weekends are always full so I can't get out screaming around on back roads

I need to make more of an effort to get out on organised rides and i'll probably find that fun factor again
Love the story! I'd feel top of the world if I did the same as she did
