OK, just as I did while I lived there,You will make do with what you have access to. But in all honesty, go and buy a dirt bike. You will have way more fun!! The Roads the others have mentioned are all roads which could be considered outer metropolitan roads. ie; they are almost the burbs. As such, there are lots of houses and driveways running off them. Add to that, the pea gravel strewn across almost every tight turn, and it doesn't make for a lot of fun riding. Sure, there are some glimpses of joy, such as down south, but all in all, the roads are as Gos says. Straight and flat! Unless you have a bike which can reach 400kph, then it is boring!!!

While I pretty much always had a roadie while living in Perth, I spent most of my time in the bush. It's mostly sand and it does take some time to get your head around riding in sand if you have never done it, or haven't done much of it. But, perservere and it's worth it. the dunes at Lancelin are pretty amazing to ride. Plus there are stacks of places not far from the metro area where you can ride all day and not hit a tar road.

A big bore four stroke of whatever brand you choose works well in Perth. I had a KDX250, a WR400, a KDX200 and a KLX400 while I lived there. The best in the big dunes at Lancellin was the WR. But in the bush the KLX was brilliant. The little KDX was untouchable if it was tight single track, but lost out a little in the more open stuff. If I were going back to live in Perth, I'd buy another KLX if I could find one.
