Do you have a TRE?

I'd like to compare the curves stock, with a tre, with a PCIII and with PCIII & TRE.

i wanna see stock pipes (not with the A & R inserts)

They have no trouble keeping up with 2010 Gixxers with full systems, pc5's tuned ty Phil Tainton at the straight at EC.

Go Gumby Powaaah!

too bad they are so ugly
I can dig my fully stock chart up and scan it if ya like.

very nice. I have also added a PCIII and k N filter, also with akrapovic bolt ons. Runs very nice, also alot less engine brake than with the stock pipe so you can actually ride 50km/h in first gear around town.

I have just fitted a set of the A&R baffles myself and already have the PCIII and TRE, and have been thinking about getting it properly tuned as well...

Ever come over bathurst way much? Would be good to get a couple of gumbys on the road together lol :kuda:

Here's my chart - not sure if this was with or without the TRE - possibly without...
07 10r with Akra slip on and no other mods.
And this Dyno gives a fairly low reading - my figure was 3 under an 08 R1 on the same day... in March 08

Our good friends at the big K think it best to install a number of fueling/ignition maps; one for each gear. There are many rumours as to why they do this, but the general theory is that the bikes have a lower power map (by retarding the ignition) in the lower gears to...
A) prevent newbies looping
B) get through emissions testing
C) get through noise testing
D) all of the above

There is also a theory that the 6th gear map is weaker as part of the speed restriction.

The upshot of all of this is that the 5th gear map is the only one that allows the engine to produce max power throughout the rev range. A TRE simple fools the ECU into thinking it is always in 5th gear, therefore giving the best map for every gear.

Most of it came from the ZX10r.net forum some two years ago, the rest I made up. Don't recall what rev range it affects, only which gears. I do know that my first gear throttle response what much better with the TRE installed; which is a noted issue in the low end in stock trim.

Some of the info here
