In Scotty's case you say "Show us what ya got lardarse" and get ready for a hard chase. :)

Ok then Noddy where is Big ears! haha yer funny  Your still smarting from when you challenged me huh. :P

Yeah anyway like everyone else has said, I usually nod away and wave at cruisers, don't bother with Hog riders unless they wave first. I don't get sucked into a drag from the lights, but it seems even at idle the 12 just pulls away from them that easy it looks like i am

I've NOD to a few this weekend.
Good gesture I reckon but it seems like I always initiate it.
I'm yet to see a rider that will NOD first to me, not that it really matter.

I was at the front of the lane at a set of lights this morning and a bloke lane split up next to me on an oldish BMW. Gave him a nod, no response. Then when the lights change the bastard took off in front of me! I admit I was taking it easy with the new bike so I didn't get away real quick from the lights  but that's bloody rude in my book :x

I love this topic. It always seems to draw much conversation. Anyway, I always nod or wave other sportbikes. But some recent observations:

1) A wave might look like the universal hand signal for copper (making a circular motion with a finger in the air), which kind of sucks if you have just come down an awesome stretch of road and want your fellow biker to enjoy it too.

2) In traffic, if I am in a flock of cars I will be paying most of my attention to them. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of a biker giving me a nod when its too late. So its not that I am ignoring you, its just that I am trying to save my life.

Otherwise I nod all the time. Saving my best nods for those times that you are 200km out of town enjoying the twisties and you come up to another rider. It is a nod that says more than "hi fellow biker", its more like "Ah, brethren, welcome to the promised land. Go now and may you find all that you seek..." and so on.

I've noticed that its becoming more like a western when it comes to nodding,
most bikers dont draw until they see you start to... then "bang".
Maybe thats just Adelaide, we have to make our own excitment here.
