Even after having a Muzzy fitted on my own, I will vouch for the sound from a Kerker... It is very nice.

I wouldn't waste money on the slip on. Do it right and do it once.
FWIW. The Kerker megaphone is the best looking for the style of the bike in my opinion but the Akrapovic has better performance than both it and the Muzzy megaphone. TopCat would be able to fill you in on the Hindle system and Striker will tell you to keep the standard exhaust and learn to ride it better.

Do you want pure performance, or style and sound? For me it's hard to go past the look and sound of the Kerker and Muzzy meg in black but there are better performing systems if you are after that. You can't go wrong with an Akrapovic full system.

Hmm okaye I'll list the things am looking from an exhaust system...according to levels of importance for me.
1.Weight of the exhaust
2. Sound
3. Easy access to oil filter
4. Power
5. Looks
Am quite happy with the power the bike has, so not really chasing huge hp gains. But the extra weight lost in the front is important for me. Sound, not really loud, coz that will be great for the first 50kms, then get annoying in long rides. But should have a nice tone, which gets loud if I pump the rpms up.
I was told, some exhausts needs to be taken off while changing oil filters.....

If it gives me some extra power, that would be great. I would try avoiding rejetting, and modding air filters and running through dynos though...
Dont really care about the looks....

Ive got a full Muzzy megaphone exhaust and it sounds horn. Looks the bomb and you don't have to remove it to get to oil filter.
You will need a jet kit for this one. Ive got pod air filters and it pushes 140hp rear wheel with 125 Nm torque.

Mine is powder coated black, they usually come in silver.

rooster, Where did you get your Kerker pipe? Been trying to find one for the 2008 ZX10R (locally first, but maybe overseas?).

I would say its best to buy direct from the USA, the dollars really good at the moment so its not going to cost that much extra. Just have to wait for 2-3 weeks delivery. Not sure on which site Eric bought his but Phil might be able to point you in the right direction.

Consider getting a s/h full sytem off the zrxoa though. The headers on the Rex weigh a lot and restrict power.
The slip-on won't add any power, just sound good. You'll also start to get pissed off when the slip-on looks great and the headers start to show a lotta rust.
Hehe, I hear you about the full system Tony, would love one on mine, but my wife is gonna kill me if I spend that much right now

Had a tough job convincing her for the bolt on

So what did you end up getting? Two years down the track and I'm thinking about selling the Akrapovic full system. I know I'll regret it, but I just can't resist the Kerker for nostalgic reasons. If you only bought a slip on and are interested in upgrading to the full system, look here

I've had the Yoshi since 2002. No rust anywhere. Mine was the "street" (zyclone) one, and I removed the internal baffle to give it a throatier sound and open it up a bit. Repacked with stainless steel wool and fibreglass for just the right sound.
Bill.

Hey Nelso, long time
Yes I did pick up a Muzzy bolt-on. Gives me a good sound..but no performance and still heavy on the front. I would love to pick up the full Akra off you but I think I might have to give it a miss

Have couple of expenses lined up right now infront of me

Need a new seat for the Rex and have some paint work to do on my FTO.
Let me try and have a chat with the Mrs once still.
Btw I love the looks of those Kerkers and have heard they have their unique exhaust note

Am sure you'll love them.
Couple of questions btw... the Akra you are selling..is that a titanium system? Where are you sourcing your Kerker from?
