Just be careful changing from a PC to a MAC at this time (apart from all my usual arguements that are personal opinion). I am not sure if Microsoft is doing what the have been told by the courts yet, but very soon Microsoft is beeing forced to take Office off the market. So if you buy a MAC you may not be able to get a "legitimate" version of Office until 2010 gets released sometime this year. Ofcourse having said that... I am sure it is still very easy to get an illegitimate copy.

And ofcourse that only applies if you actually care to use Office.

Go see Pete in the Penrith Domayne and tell him to give you a good price on one. Im sure they still sell them still.

went to penrith Domayne today, there computer and electrical bit is now "Harvey Norman clearance centre" :S

Wattie you won't get a Mac from a HN as you already know and you'll find it hard not to pay RRP as the mark up is only 8% .....

When I bought my Macbook Pro they (Dick Smith) wouldn't budge on the price of it,but did do some pretty good discount's on other peripheral's i.e:Bluetooth mouse,Bag and Software.....We got our discount that way

Wattie, that suprises me that Domayne had no macs... atleast the Domayne in my street advertises on the radio as the place to go for a mac, I thought that was one of the major marketing pieces that Domayne used.

By the looks of their website, the coastal Domaynes are the only ones stocking electrical and computers. all the other NSW sites say bedding, manchester and flooring only.

im trying to convince her, and sacrificing her pay wont work....

the thing with salary sacrifice is that you get to buy the laptop free of income tax Well worth trying to convince her to save atleast 30% of the price. I can't remember with the education department how they do it, but my company even gives us the opportunity to pay the laptop back to the company over however many months.

If you want easy buying, then go online, you'll find a button that takes you to the education website with revised pricing. It will also tell you how much stuff you can but per year at the discounted rate...

Or just go to domayne north ryde and talk to the salesman about the educations pricing, either way you'll have to check what your wife needs as proof that she is a teacher... I know I had to prove I was a student and I'm pretty sure I just provided my student number...
