Another thing to consider.........
How much will you have to discount the bike when you sell it (you will one day) because it doesn't have a Red Key...........

Ever consider trying to contact QLD transport (verbally and then in a written/registered post letter if given a verbal ok) and asking them to contact the original/last owner and asking them if it is ok for them to either pass your details to them, or to pass his details onto you.
It's worth a shot, and you aren't trying to do anything that doesn't require the individuals consent.

insurance writeoffs Hoff, did your ZRX go to auction will all keys and books etc?
ZRX's don't have a red key so no issue with getting copies. I still have the red key and a spare black one with all of the books for the Z1000. The insurance don't even ask for them. The idiots didn't contact me about buying it back even though I told them I would be interested in it so, I have no idea when it was sold and where it ended up.

yeah the point im making is the fact you have your spares for the Z, the ZRX's are a little primative for red keys

i am a bike ecu tec based in the U.K london
and i can resotre or add as many bike keys as u want from ecu inc red key to any bike
i am trading on ebay but can also trade direct
