1400km later I'm home! It was all thrills and no spills and the license is still intact! I was due to stay out playing another day (to get to my goal of 2000km) but with thunderstorms forecast for most of the places I was planning to ride and a farm machinery conference on up at Uralla/Armidale (a Harley rally

) I thought it best to head home.
Day 1 - left home at 8.30 and headed up the Putty. First stop was Bulga - just before you get to Singleton. From Singleton I took the back road through to Dungog then Gloucester. The road was TERRIBLE but the scenery was amazing. After Bucketts came Thunderbolts which is also in pretty poor shape at the moment (including 2 long stretches of open road/gravel!!) but it was fun all the same. I pulled into Walcha at 4.30pm and made a bee line for the Walcha Motel. I think I met every rider from QLD heading back from the MotoGP along the way on day 1!! Dinner at the Walcha Hotel was noms!! Mmmmmmm steak!
Day 2 - the day of the Oxley!!! To be honest.....I hated every minute of the twisties going from the Walcha end towards Wauchope. I wasn't comfortable and could barely manage 60km through the tight bits which was really shitting me. Considering I was by myself and not holding anyone up I really should have just chillaxed and enjoyed it but it was hot and I was cranky and I just couldn't get my shit together. I hada nice lunch at Wauchope (Curleys Cafe - highly reccommended!!!) and chilled for a hour. It was HAWT! About 30degrees I reckon and I was in full leathers with Skins under.
Lucky for me I had booked into the Walcha Hotel for two nights becuase the ride back up the Oxley was AWESOME!!!!! I think the combo of a nice lunch, slightly cooler conditions, heading uphill and CHOOSING THE RIGHT FREAKING GEARS helped!!!! I dropped two gears and found 20km of corner speed!!!!!!!!!!! I have a massive addiction to the higher gears and using 2nd doesn't feature in my vocab but hell that 2nd gear got a workout heading back to Walcha!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got back into Walcha just as the thunderstorm hit at 3.30pm - great timing! Dinner was a burger from the local greasy joes - for some reason the Walcha Hotel doesn't do dinner on Friday and Saturday nights?? I was asleep by 8pm
Day 3 - hit the road at 7.30am and headed to Gloucester for brekky. Sooooo glad there are loo's at Nowendoc - its the only thing I hate about being a chick - you guys and your pull over anywhere for a leak is just not fair!!

I had a brilliant run back down Buckets Way and after a brief stint on the freeway I jumped on Peats Ridgd Rd and the Old Road to PITS for lunch at 2pm and I was home and showered by 3.30pm.
So it was a brilliant trip. Pics to follow. No problems along the way, my back and shoulder held up but the ankle is screw&#^%ed. And seriously - whats with cruiser riders? I wonder what came first, the cruidser or the attitude?? I got a wave or a nod out of every sportsbike rider (and even one from a 'driver' of a CanAm but NOT ONE nod or wave from the cruiser riders!!!.
Now for the second week of my holiday......SCRAPBOOK THE PHOTOS!!! LOL

Nice and clean before heading off
At the look out on Thunderbolts. I was chatting to a few riders there from QLD who were STILL on there way back from the GP.
On the Oxley. I wanted to take more scenery shots but had a good run with traffic so didn't want to stop!
Lunch at Wauchope
Proof I was there
Got caught up in a burn-off along Thunderbolts
Home and in need of a WASH!!!
