Indri lost her keys (about 10 keys and a big keyring) for one whole week, and we looked "everywhere 5 times" and gave up.

A week later I was getting the pram out of the car and there they were, on the pebbles just under the car

My bike key lives in the pocket of my leathers, spares are in my key safe (OK it's a Ferrero Rocher box), and I have a secret draw for the red key which has never been used.

Hope you find it dude, but it's worth having spared/red key.

Still looking. Found the email addy of the guy I bought it off, so I'm hoping he still uses it. The bike was from Perth so I'm ringing the four dealers there today to see what I can find out. The Official word from Kawasaki is $2500 for a new ECU, red key, two blacks and a locksmith to pull the ignition barrel and cut the keys to suit.

Found the dealer that sold the bike, but because of the privacy act they can't give me the buyers details, which is fair enough. I hope the guy I got it of can shed some light on the subject.

If I can come up with a name that matches their records they will try and call him, so I'm counting on the fact I can contact the guy I got it off and he can tell me who he got it off. Failing that a wreckers has an ecu and red key but no barrel for $450. Kawasaki say that they can use this to program new black keys cut to my barrel.

Oh dear...

Yep, its not cheap.. The other option is what Wardy did and buy an ECU from the states as they don't require the red keys.

Wattie was quoted $300 to cut additional keys from the red one..

I remember several years ago my dad being contacted by the RTA in NSW whether he would be happy for them to pass on his details to someone who had purchased a bike he once owned. Maybe you can travel that path with the WA version of RTA?

Generally the original owners details are in the back of the service log booklet, I would guess if there was no red key there was no service history log :?

Have you checked where you take your jeans off?
Under the bed, in the washing machine/dryer or the washing basket?
Assuming you checked the car but have you put up a lost notice at the shops?
It won't be in the last place you look, if you keep looking after you find it :D

Keep the suggestions coming guys. Still checking everywhere with GF following behind. Got the notice at the shops, and been to see the boys in blue in case it was handed in there. I've got the owners manual but that's it, no service log. I've emailed the WA rta to see if I can make any headway there. No matter what happens I've been quoted $180 per key from Kawasaki.
