From the link. Last year, New South Wales police arrested a motorcyclist who allegedly sped past police cameras near the Spit Bridge in Sydney more than 2000 times while covering his rear number plate with his hand to avoid detection.

I heard on the radio this morning that they're considering electronic tags/chips in bikes instead of the front number plates, zero blood alchohol limit and compulsory safety clothing for bikes. Don't know how far along it is and if is only Qld or other states as well.

Electronic monitoring?
Where is my tin foil hat ffs....
If they really wanted to help people by going down this cotton wool path approach, why not have GPS tracking that actively wont allow you to to go over the speed limit anywhere via engine management, the technology is available. No fines, no revenue, no problems

I was listening to some tosser yesterday on talkback talking about this. He was adament bikes should have front number plates. Then some supposed motorcyclists called in mentioning how a sticker or plastic numberplate they wouldnt have an issue with

Or a chip in the eway tags (who uses these?) Well I guess the only way to get through "safety" camera's after that will be to have the front wheel pointed towards the sky

Or heaven forbid slow down for 10 metres

It says in one of the posts about the guy in sydney getting caught by them recognising his bike and clothes, Maybe all those photo's that the police are taking of the front and rear of bikes are paying off for police, While attending a couple of places for bike related stuff ie bike shows/charity rides the police have had camera's set up to photograph the front and rear of your bike while you are on it so they dont need to have a front number plate to catch us, maybe there doing a database up.
