Hi Cath - this is brilliant idea :kuda:

I've been wondering about asking for some help - I have my MOST test coming up soon and my confidence is probably not as high as I'd like it with slow speed manouvers.

Not sure what assistance I can provide anyone but always willing to help in any way I can :D

There are a few of us that are going for our MOST test, Andrea and I are looking at practice, we have the cones so maybe if we organise a Saturday or Sunday practice day would be good, I know it maybe a bit far for you to come but we have an awesome industrial area near us or we can think of somewhere half way. Those willing to come and give tips would be greatly appreciated. :kuda:

This is a bit of a "Pay it forward" type thread and all smart arsed comments aside it can work.

For Melbournites I can offer assistance in terms of maintenance and servicing. I have basic equipment and tools to do most things pertaining to bikes. ;)
I don't currently have a road registered bike and hence I am not able to go out on rides to offer advice. And this is a dangerous area also for newcomers who lack confidence if they should seek advice from anybody else who is forthcoming with riding advice. The person giving the advice on technique and style should only proffer the information as guidance only! What works for one may not work for another. I personally would hate to tell someone that in order to corner correctly they should brake later, apex later and exit faster lest they don't comprehend the simple basics of making a bike steer in the first place.
Likewise I am willing to offer assistance in maintenance and servicing but it is offered as guidance from my experience only and may or may not be correct - that would be for you to decide and to act upon accordingly.
Anybody interested in racing or trackdays is also welcome to attend any events with other members throughout the country who are actively involved. In most cases I have no doubt they will be welcomed and more than likely be pushed into action to assist and even during just one day of attendance as an observer will be given greater confidence by knowing how it all works. Weather looks good this weekend and I believe there may be a small gathering at Broadford on Sunday

I can tell you where to go.... ;)

I'm not the best rider so I'll keep my thoughts mostly to myself, however if I see something that a rider in a group is doing that may need advising I'm more than happy to converse.

Oh and if they are riding like a cock head I'll tell em to fuck off.

cheers
