I'd love to be involved in this - very keen camper. Only problem is no 4WD (or car for that matter but working on that for August).
Have just been approved for assistance with caring and can have mum in respite for a weekend now so weekends away can happen.
Safe to bring a 14yo son?

Looks like there's more interest in camping than 4WDing at the moment

I like the beer and beach fishing idea

Just don't park it in the way and you should be right.

You might be thankful to have at least one capable car out there as you city 4wd's might get stuck.
It's not really camping if you are staying at a caravan park and sand driving is a bit boring. Also, there will be beer no matter where we decide to go.
Other options include the Watagans as well as Yalwal. Yalwal I know well but haven't been to the Watagans yet so don't know my way around up there.

The idea is to camp in a spot you have to 4wd into. That way there will be no noisy drunken dickheads around......except for us.

If HYPE knows his way around the Watagans I think it would be a good place to go. As for warmer, you just need to build a bigger fire!

Put me down as a possible, Cath.

I usually have a spare seat Collette as my wife doesn't like 4wd's or camping, so you should have no worries getting a lift.
Thanks mate

I've done a few trips through the Watto's and camped up there a few times. Both of the camping areas are accessible by 2WD, so you do get a few dickheads, but it would allow the (keen) 2wders to get there, and there's plenty of spots to bend your truck if you want to go nuts too

. I'd love to go back to Newnes too.

New D22 STR Navara on order- due for August.
Go south and I am keen to get it out there as soon as possible

Canberra region or Southern NSW is striking distance for a weekend.
If so - and delivery date to be confirmed - Count in Myself, Missus ( Evangeline ) and 2 dogs (its their car afterall

)

Mate I'm up for a drunken, 4x4, camping fishing weekend, my missus hates camping and 4x4ing, so how do you fancy taking the Terri? Prob won't happen for a while so I will have the ticket back, if it is sooner, you can drive
Not the best 4x4 but fark me we could have some fun, waddyareckon?
What about the 'Lost World' out Lithgow way. Not to far for anyone and suposed to be quite remote in a weird way. I'm not sure about the camping though.
Cheers,
Damo

Fark off it's not! I don't mind though. I'm expecting to drive a bit no matter where we end up.
There's also spots out around Wambian Caves too. I'd rather not camp somewhere were there is 2wd access so the Watagans might not be such a good idea after all.
