Done a stack of work after these pics were taken, it is almost finished now, I will update the page in the near future.
I had the same carb spitting problem you have/had. I ended up replacing all the float needles and the float height is critical on this bike, you have to get it just right. The motor seems to be running and reving fine now but I have not ridden it yet so under load test still to be done.

another good front brake mod is to replace the master cylinder with a later model one , i did this to eddie junior [ 82 gpz 750 ] it improved the brakes instantly.

The old master cylinders are as good as new ones provided they are clean and don't leak oil or air. I know replacing old with new is quick and easy if the old one has problems but a new kit will fix most of them unless there is pitting in the bore. Almost always spongy brakes are due to the old oil lines, they may look fine on the outside but the inner goes all mushy and expands when pressure is applied to the lever. Braided stainless are the go but I am not sure if they are yet legal here.
All that said if anyone wants a new master cylinder I have 2 here, 14mm bore, $140.00 each.

I am on the hunt for some side covers for bike same as this, well most importantly the left as I have a right - it's not in the best nick but it's attached.

just not firing...
Once it's in the hole it must be shorting somewhere then or the plug itself might be shorting.
Wrap the lead in insulation tape and if that doesnt work then try diff plug.
