I read that story too, but it doesn't actually quote Schuey as saying anything even tho it claims it in the title, just theorises....

well on that basis...Schuey never said he was the Stig...Clarkson presumed the person dressed as the Stig sitting opposite
him in the studio was ...and then had him remove his helmet.... guess we all added 2 and 2 and got exactly what the TV shows producers
thought we would.....

i reckon it could be him... would explain why the stig is so good!!!... the stig is quicker than most of the F1 drivers that have appeared on the show...

or it could be that whoever it is has driven almost every descent car around that track multiple times, over many years, and has done thousands of laps, and probably knows it better than the people who designed it do.
just because he is faster on one track, does not mean that it must be schuey.

The Stig is not a retired F1 driver.
But he is a professional racer - rally or touring cars.
The shows are pre-recorded - almost the whole series is completed before they "go to air" so it is more than possible for them to record the Stigs laps in the cars at the end of a championship, when the team takes a break, and works on the engines and aerodynamics of the car, before any testing is required of the driver!!!!!!

Besides if anyone cares to notice - the Stig is way too tall to be an F1 driver....... Unless its Alex Wurz!!!

I am the stig... but just dont tell anyone otherwise they will replace me.

check out the chaser, they dressed one of them up as the stig and tried to see how far they could take commandeering cars from the general public. one guy let them drive from london to stonehenge and then to paris.

It has been confirmed... "The Stig" is former race driver Ben Collins.........
apparently his own management company let it out of the bag (work must be slowing up)

Yeah was an old rumour, but now confirmed, it was on TEN news tonight
