PR2 on the rear - normal Pilot Power on the front mate - just as per Hoffinators advice. This is a great combo, and the rear PR2 will give you good mileage. Get the stickier version - they do 2 types of PR2.....

I have gone through 4 sets of 016's and atm I am just managing to get 5K (if I am lucky ) to a front and rear on the bug and thats just road riding only. They are hard in the centre but nothing like the PR2. For me the front also tends to scollop out on the side really quick (about 4K) causing that knife edge tipping point. However this all said they grip like all buggery front and rear in most condtions.

I will be surprised if you feel the difference on the road between 50-55 and if you do just jack the back up a notch!!!

yes, sort-of accidentally what a balls-up that was. Anyway, the 2CT 'Race' was very welcome on the trip home. But the 2CT (Road) is also a very good tyre.....bit longer life .....although that tyre from the WSB trip is still on the back Wattie, and still looking pretty good !

How did you go? I had power 2ct and liked them a lot, they got 5000 front and rear and were all but bald on the sides. I just put on a set of D209rr and they grip like shit to a blanket and turn in FAST but I have not had the chance to push them yet. (Oh and I went from 50 to 55 rear profile at the same time)

OK, so I ordered a pair of Road 2's from Kon at High Octane last week and rode in today to have them fitted. Got there just after 12pm, and he told me that the fronts were out of stock, but he had the rear. He offered Continentals Attack instead, but going on advice from here I asked if he had a Power front to go with the Road 2 rear. Instead he rolls out a 2CT front, and says I can have it for the road 2 price.

Now, here is where I like High Octane motorcycles - their price is little over some other places, but their quoted price includes fitting as Kon prefers to do this himself (he'd rather do this that someone bring in a set of wheels and do the job themselves). While the wheels are off everything gets a quick clean, as does the chain, then the wheels are refitted and the chain is lubed. Worth the extra $10 on other quotes for road 2s fitted.

So out on the road and I think - not too far from the Black Spur here - what better place to scrub in some new tyres. How does the bike differ from having the M3s - chalk and cheese. the M3s are the chalk, and the pilots are a nice soft french cheese.

Steering feels more neutral - but that could be because the M3s were squaring off after 12,000km The front seems a little higher on the 2CT, but turn in is easier than the M3 and stability is way better. As for grip - what can I say, fark I love the 2ct If I could afford to keep replacing the rears I'd have one on the back as well, but the road 2 did a very good job shoving the bike around. I did about 6 laps of the Spur, a few just to the car park to gradually work the tyres over on the constant radius corners and a few full length runs to play on the hairpins.

All up I have done about 250km on the new tyres, and can say they are very well balanced as a pair. Also, this is probably the most confidence I have ever had scrubbing in a pair of tyres - the grip level and confidence is awesome.

Yep i seen ya at diamo lights i had just knocked of work and heading home (Red XR8),thinking bastard in the sunshine scrubbing in new tyres .Glad ya had fun and for the record my bike doesnt go anywere else

The power 2ct are great but they do let go in a hurry when you push a bit to hard but you have to push hard! They slide predictably but you don't get much warning that is is coming. Have fun on them.

they are fine, and have never let go in the slightest on me, and I give them a good workout.
