i'm in same situation as you fadz hope your right six addict as much as i love my 250 i couldnt stand being on it for 3 years. Its amazing how most accidents arent caused by riders more the twit who cuts them off on the road or hits them.
ohh btw way tim i'm already trying to get mine to go quicker
If you look up the NSW RTA statitsics most bike accidents are actually single vehicle, that is the rider crashed on their own without assistance. Remembering the fact that many accidents go unreported so this figure should be even higher.
This new rule is really a common sense rule, it means that there is no more confusion about what a P plater can or can not do depending if you have a bike or car. In the past you had a motorcyclist on their full licence able to do the speed limit but at the same time still on their car P's only able to do a maximum 90km/h. I mean where is the logic in that?
you will still get that situation nick... some people will be on a full licence for one vehivle and provisional for another... infact with the number of middle aged people taking up or re-taking up riding i dare say the problem might be exaccerbated with people now having to spend longer on their provisional licence...
your situation assumes people undertaking both at the same time, something which rarely happens... i am a case in point myself... i only spent 15 months with a lopsided licence (already had full on car) but now i would spend 36 months like that!!!
No disagreement you get the same situation, but what I was saying is at least they are the same parameters, that is the same rule now applies whether it is bike or car with regards to p plates.
There is still ambiguity between car and bike licence rules, like why did I have to do 4 days paid tuition to get a bike licence and for a car zero tuition, but they have least got the time frame aligned.

if u do your Ls test before the new date, then you'll get in under the current scheme...
so 11 months and you're on your full licence mate
Thank god!!!! hahahah i was hoping i wouldn't be subjected to that crap.... went through it with the car and am keen not to have to do it for the bike...
ahhhh that reminds me.... Must transfer licence to s.a.... They are now apparently going to allow me to transfer my l's!!

Louder doesn't mean quicker Phil
From our ride a couple of weeks ago my 500 pulls better than your ninja. Up high you might have the advantage tho, but you've gotta get up there first
mines not that loud just cos it has more db than hp.

Getting a motorcycle rider licence
“The restrictions for P1 drivers are a zero blood alcohol limit, a maximum speed restriction of 90km/h and a loss of licence for incurring four or more demerit points.
”
What is wrong with these people? Speed differentials kill. We just spent some time in SA with a friend who's just got her Ls. Going too fast isn't going to kill her; being restricted to 80km/h and getting tail-ended by a B-double at 110km/h will. Is that so hard to understand?
So those with a full car licence can skip the greens?? I've been on road for 5 years but still have reds for the car because I was just plain lazy. So why can't I skip the greens in the car????
See here, young man,
From Walgett to the sea,
From Conroy's Gap to Castlereagh,
There's none can ride like me.
