isn't that just a part of servicing and maintance, and how often do u ride it? the way motomick was describing his issues, he was changing master cylinders left right and centre, technically, shouldn't the stock one go for abit longer before it shits itself?

its an inherant fault in the spec of the brakes, not faulty brakes...

They go spongy after repeated braking from 200+kph or so... Nothing to worry about really

Most of the issues are at the track, where intensive braking is required, if just a roady, no need for all the fuss and changing parts etc.
my bike has 40,000k's approx, I get 18 to 22 k's from a set of pads, but I do change them a little early, just put 3rd set in, to be sure to be sure !

the 06 brakes are fine for road use they just dont cope well on the track with the increase in repetition and heat.
I am keen to see how the crim goes with the carbon fibre compisite pads plus brembo m/c. I am guess like carbon compisite discs there will be no feel till they get some heat into them

yeah changing your calipers does work, we established that like 12months ago. or more.
but to race in Formula Extreme, you cannot change calipers or Master cylinders. its against the rules.

yes indeedy even on the street the OEM setup can be dodgy at best so don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise.
Here's more confirmation of whats required.
Yes the nissins are an improvement, yes the CBR 600, 1k Tokicos W/5mm spacer are in improvement and the final cure to this dilemma weather you have an 04,5,6 or 7 zx10 however the OEM radial pump on the 06,7 is an improved addition that can be drafted onto the 04,5 and brake light connection as a bonus. The ss-lines, fluid are also welcomed additions that in combination with the calipers end your brake woes.

yeah all good, but formula extreme racing over here in Oz, wont let you change calipers or master cylinders.

I think I've managed to stumble across a free set of 05 zx10 calipers that have been serviced. I'll stick them on the bike when I get them and let you know how they feel
