The other way to do it is to join the Official MotoGP Tour (also does SBK) with Australian Motorcycle Tours. This year they have their own NEW corporate facility at Turn 4 (Honda Corner) OF course you dont HAVE to stay there (although the food and beers are free) but can do track walks as well, there is grandstand as well as picnic seating. BUT it is a Tour, that is it starts in the Snowies and winds it way down to PI via the best roads in Oz. Having done it camping, in a house from Melbourne by bus each day (flew down on a package deal :roll: ) and on Tour all I can say is I ONLY do it on Tour now ;)
Brilliant just doesnt cover it but the motto of "All the right curves in all the right places" does.
Its not cheap, excellence never is...
There is a support vehcile to carry your gear so you can enjoy the curves and in case of a oopsie.

The Facility benefits include:
* One (1) reserved seat per person in a shared dining suite.
* Outdoor viewing area with garden tables and chairs.
* Superscreen viewing.
* Morning and afternoon tea.
* Light lunch served on Friday.
* Full hot buffet lunch served on Saturday and Sunday.
* Selected beverages including premium beer, wine, soft drink, tea and coffee.
* Cash bar for spirits.
* Colour TV monitors televising all of the live Circuit entertainment.
* Access to the infield of the Circuit and the National Support Race Paddock.
* OZGP Tour Exclusive Memorabilia will also be included.

PRICES
OZGP Tour includes 9 nights Bed and Breaky and a three day OZGP Tour Corporate Pass to the 2008 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
Twin Share: $2790
(Single Supplement add $900)
Pillion Double*: $2690

OZGP Tour with NO Corporate Pass.
Twin Share: $1990
(Single Supplement add $900)
Pillion Double*: $1890

4 Nights Bed & Breaky at the Cowes with Corporate Facilities at the Track:
$1990/Twin Share
(Single Supplement add $500)
$2990/Double Sharing with another couple. (Not Shared add $500)

IF this sounds like an ad for brill' trip away, it is. Its not cheap but FUCK is it worth it ;)

That would have been one of Marios kids who gave it to ya..

We give the kids a stack of stickers each and they run around (within site) giving them to anybody wearing green.. Keeps em occupied as there too young to get us beers.. :-)
I vaguely remember being handed a bourbon by a young Kaw at some point last year.....

seen as you guy's have mentioned kids.... it's as good a time as any...

my 12yo young fella wants to come down to the GP's with me.. he's trying his best tosweet talk his mum around.. BUT...

she think's: A) he's too young to ride that far (Bris to P.I).....he wouldn't be able to hold on that long or stay awake that long and if he did doze off, he'd fall off........... B) he's too young to hang around us...........C) he'd get bored stupid.......

your thoughts????

Well since Neka is coming . the young Bloke from Brissy might be better off staying at home :twisted:

There is a pretty good bus set up around the island and they run late . Not bad fun travelling on the bus with the "happy" passengers . Bloody funny .
Plenty of Law about but they are pretty layed back . Wouldnt play any silly games on a bike myself tho .

the young dude will be fine once he's there.

but as for getting there, thats up to you.

getting there wouldnt be too bad, i found (when i was younger) the trip home was the sleepy one. :?

but a big velcro strap, and strap him to your back :lol:
get him an ipod and some headphones that go into your ears and he'll never bother you, except when he pisses down your back to keep you warm :lol:

Just a follow up on this, looks like i might have to head down to the MotoGP by myself :( I was going to go down with my uncle but it looks like he'll have to have major back surgery before then, which isn't good. I've asked around with all my mates to see if they want to head down but none are really too interested in the MotoGP.
So i think i'm going to train it down from Wagga and stay in Melbourne, just wondering if they have like bus shuttle services from Melbourne to PI on both Saturday and Sunday? and do people think its worth staying the night in Melbourne on the Saturday to see the Saturdays qualifying and what not? or just better to come down on the train very very early Sunday morning, get the shuttle (if there is such thing), go to PI, come back to Melbourne and catch the train back to Wagga late Sunday night?

Qualifying is the time to get around and look from different spots while you can and also to get into the Expo etc.
Race day the place is packed and you will probaly want to claim a spot early if you dont have Grandstand or Corporate seating
Saturday gives you a chance to find out where you want to watch from (if not TeamGreen at #1)
IF not there I think Siberia is best but practice is cool to watch EVERYWHERE.

Sounds good, I think i might go for the Saturday to check things out. Only problem is getting to and from the track from Melbourne!
