It sounded awesome on the run yesterday!!! But I reckon you need to ask if there was meant to be a baffle somewhere as its straight through!!! Dont be surprised when "the man" pulls you up soon

being such a big change in noise and esp exhaust gas flow did you fuel delivery need to be remapped?

its a carbie bike mate, so no remapping.... it pops and bangs on the overrun so i probably need to do something to the fuel delivery/spark delivery...
as im a newb, id appreciate some advice on if it is indeed fuel casuing the popping and banging... altho giving its now running leaner for given revs, i wouldnt have thought that would have been the case...
the bike probably does have some ignition radvance (i think) device to meet emission restrictions... it seems other carbie bikes like RS125 aprilia's have them... so maybe losing the ignition advance would help.... as i say im not the most naturally gifted mechanical person about... so some words of advice or a steer (or good whacking) in the right direction would be good...
just checked the website, and there is a baffle which is a recommended accesory for the pipe, altho is not supplied as stock.... bah hummbug
i will check to see if the US site i used to buy the pipe can supply that for me ...
cheers guys....
i almost dont wanna put the baffle in cos my god this thing sounds ungodly to me... and i mean i a good way... i keep telling myself it sounds like a 1098 with termies.... altho big bore single cylinder dirt bike is probably closer to the truth..... ah we all allowed to dream right!!???

kleen air removal will stop alot of popping, banging and gurgleing
you block the rubber air line going from the airbox to the rocker cover. very easy fix.
i cut the one on the Z and put a nylex in-line tap in it. from a sprinkler system

the euro models are fuel injected.... we get the american model that has carbies.... they kept the carbies in the US to keep the price the same as the old model...

the 'baffles' for the 2 bros cans are rubbish, extra $90 for the look of a gold end tip.
Numerous guys on another forum bought the baffle thinking it would quiet the pipes, they were all disappointed. Most
reported barely any difference at all.
As for the popping on decel, on a carbie bike you could get a Jet kit changing out the shim sizes and tune - although this is certainly not necessary for merely having a slip on pipe.
Just live with it, makes the bike sound mean.
if you get a highflow filter, you'll defenitely need to rejet, although i'm not sure wny you'd bother on a 250.

I thought they made a noticeable, though not significant, impact on noise. The reason we got them was that if Cath copped a canary for the exhausts being too loud we had something to build a more comprehensive spud into.

the two brothers website says the baffle (their marketing department calls it a POWER-TIP P1-R

) reduces noise by 3dB!!! ie jack shit... think i will save the money and just go deaf like BM!!
i do like the mean sound of the crackign and popping on the overrun, but im aware it also probably sounds a bit try hard... something which im not...
it getting harder and harder for cops to 'canary' bikes with loud pipes as many bikes roll off the showroom floor with more that the "allowed" 98dB... the= most they can do is go via the EPA (environmental protection agency) and say the noise is excessive... in which case, pop the old can on... a 20 minute job... and bob's your uncle...
coppers usually do like to avoid as much paper work as possible as im sure aardie may attest to... so i figure if im not drag racing some idiot down george street on a saturday night, i should be fine...
