This has always been a strange one for me... how can a bike (or car) be made to a certain specification (tolerance limit) and then they fine you being within that limit... the only indication the rider/driver has to guage (no pun intended) their speed is the speedo.. I know that not knowingly breaking the law is still breaking the law as such, but in this case by using the standard (and approved) equipment to determine if you are abiding by the law can still see you in breach of it? Makes no sense and surprised someone has fought a case and won on that basis if Vic does have such a policy.
(Let alone the fact that I believe it has been proven many times the inaccuracy of radar guns (especially against bikes) so you are held accountable for inaccurate equipment then why are they? Go there and argue the camera could have easily been out by 4kph and according the to the "approved" equipment you have at your disposal for measuring speed you were below the limit!)

As I understand it vic roads gets away with it because it's not actually them who operate the cameras, it's in the hands of private enterprise and they can bascily do as they wish in terms of how they set their tolerances for the speed cameras. (If I'm way off the mark someone can correct me)

After they subtract at least 3 km/h. You will not get done for a measured speed of +1.

An "ex" mate has just texted me with the solution I should sell the Rex with the tabletop torque curve and get a ZX10 because it has no mid range and as I never go go past 6000 rpm

I'll never break the speed limit

again.

(He owns an 06 10 so he knows it has no midrange

)

Yeah well the snorters in SA are non negotiable.I was clocked mobile radar at 115 in 100 and given no tolerance even after writing a letter explaining that there should be 1-3ks which would have been 1 point not 3

.But true to form they thought hes an interstater and wont bother fighting it so they told me get stuffed in there own way

.So i copped $300 and 3 points which they are now recieving $40 a month for the next 6and 1/2 months.

thats a real shitter Eric....
You know mate, if you had come back home with the HCC, you could have......
* Torn up every good road in Vic:
* Belted up and down a couple of great mountain roads:
* Left huge darkies at every corner you saw :
* Exceeded the state limit - in 1st gear - at every opportunity ( with 5 more gears to go !!

)
* Got on the piss, and watched yourself on TV !!!!
Next time, do yourself a favour, and jump on the back of the HCC queue, heading north.....maybe......

actually the Fed govt did not exist at the time the Australian Constitution was promulgated
The Aust Constitution is actually enshrined in a piece of BRITISH legislation
so
you can blame the poms...
also Taswegians should be thankful..they are NOT a colony of the British Empire....
here endeth the history lesson
