Yeah good advice (and i do) but i was just wondering if there were better tried and true products out there... i have never used wax myself...tub or spray - i have contacted the bel-ray distributer...thought i'd giv them a go...just waiting on a reply

Agree with Fuckhead up there (Hoffy) . Belray is the best chainlube for "non fling". Also fits in your handbag easily doesn't it bitch?
Belray is part of the PJ1 group and should be found on most dealers shelves. If not get them to order it in for you. I just paid $14.99 for a can at Brighton Kawasaki.

I once wrote an e-mail to Shell regarding the Shell Advance chain lube as a letter of complaint stating that I was not happy with their product in that more of it remained upon my rims, ducktail and pants than on the chain.
Their response was " We are sorry that you do not find our product to be adequate to your needs and we hope that one day in the future you will again try our products again as we are constantly refining them. We thank you for your comments but we have trialled and evaluated this product in the marketplace and attained satisfactory results"
So apparently the common motorcyclist they evaluated was happy to have to clean all this muck off they're bike and re-apply it regularly.

Belray is the shit.
A little often is always better than alot occasionally.

Automatic oiler is the way to go. Easy to clean and once a month fill-up

I hate sticky stuff as it's hard to clean on the rims.

Motorex for mine. Stays white until it needs to be re-applied, so you can tell at a glance if your chain needs any attention.

The chain on the MFP12 is still OEM, has done >36k, and I reckon will make it to 50k......only ever used Motorex on it.

Just on the cleaning, best way for me is spray liberally with WD-40, then wipe thoroughly with a cloth. Then apply my Maxima Chain Wax after a short ride so the chain is warm.

no but you can get empty hand pump WD40 spray bottles that can be used

i got into Motorex recently as well, the white application is awesome so you don't miss a spot.

only thing is i noticed my chain start to squeak when i roll it out of the garage in the mornings

i've read that too. engine degreasers bad for chain cleaning.

WD 40 will get inside the O rings and ruin them, get an el-cheapo spray bottle and use kero or diesel. If you don't like spraying diesel or kero everywhere i use a 1 inch paintbrush to apply and work it around to remove the muck.
Wipe up with rags, then i let it air dry for a while, then re-apply my oil/lube.

BTW i've been using some old gun oil i had lying around called Tri-Flow, i use the smallest amount sprayed on the inside links. It's good for around 2 weeks before a re-oil, it flicks off but i use such a small amount it only lands on the swingarm and easy to wipe off.

Also come chain clean up time there's not 6 tonnes of grease like substance clogged up around the front sprocket area, even when using the Belray this happened.
Lube time reduced, clean up time time reduced, less mess overall and i still get a decent lube job on the chain.
