Hey Al, I'm prolly preaching to the converted already if you have done more than one ride with Phil!!!

But I bought my Rex to use as a tourer. I really hadn't expected the level of sports bike performance that it actually has!!! It's a real surprise package!!!!! Much more than the sum of it's antiquated parts list!!!!!!
The only time I have found the Rex Wanting, was whilst pedalling along with an Ex A grader on a well set up current model CBR600RR on a tight tight mountain road. I could keep with him, but couldn't pass and it was a little bit of work to stay with him. He was having a red hot go though, as No one likes having an antiquated bit of kit in front of there modern sports tackle!!!!

He had Race tyres on it also. I reckon If I had the same tyres, it may have been a different story, as I leave a little in reserve for the road tyres. All that just means that the rex is a very very handy bit of twisty road tackle, as well as all the other things it does so well!!! Whatever you do...don't ride one!!! It'll be the end of ya!!!!

Too late Strika, had a quick blast on one on the weekend

(you'll never guess who loaned me the bike

), very very tasty mate. Suits the over 30 (I'm errh over 30) , has a huge amount of low rev torque compared to the 9

, and in this case the aftermarket Kerker was sheer music to the ears

, it seemed to orchestra a very deep bass note amplified during engine breaking, that encouraged one to over blib the throttle

, the biggest bonus was the sheer comfort level achieved by the upright position, for the performance. All in all it brings out the worst in one

, I want one. However I feel like I've cheated on the 9

, we still have unfinished business

Just do what Phil and I did.......keep the 9 and buy a rex as well!!!
Mind you...the 9 won't get much use after that!!!!
