ive always agreed with the "if ya wanna go faster and ur outta revs, click it up one" theory... and bagged ppl for having them...
im gunna put one on tho, for no other reason than so i kno wot gear im in when i want to do a wheelie....
dumping the clutch in 3rd makes me look silly when it dont have the revs, and dumping it in 1st almost ends with me sitting on the road....
would be handy round the track too..

I got the GiPro with the built in TRE. Its on a race only 05 10.
If doing it over i wouldnt have got one as the gear indicator feature is too slow at a fast pace and you can do other mods that do the same as the TRE function.

Why are you doing looking at the gears while fanging it? I had no problem riding a GSX-R 600 at PI without checking what gear I'm in, and those weren't particularly slow laps. You telling me that the faster you ride the more you're looking at what gear you're in? Madness. A close ratio box makes it easier because you don't have large gaps. Just keep shifting whenever the revs drop during braking.
P.S. Yes, when cruising on the GPX it's 5th for 60 km/h and 6th for everything above, but it's a different story at the track. It's so fast it uses 2nd to 6th

I use mine more for down shifting Mig, so I know exactly what gear I am in for the corner. if i get a crap run out of a corner or get held up it is easy to be in the wrong gear.

SnypR wrote:We already have to watch our speedos like a hawk because of speed cameras, now you expect us to match the tacho too it.....on a 250 it may be easy but a 600 is alot different and a 10 l would expect it to be much harder

On the zzr600 I had it was dead easy, sitting at 3000 revs I was doing 60, 4000 revs =8- 5k revs =100 above that = speeding

I'll be fitting a Gipro unit to mine shortly cause I do get tired of toeing the lever looking for 7th with lower gearing!?
I like the idea of having a selectable TRE. And the gear indicator is just an added bonus..
