You could use it as piping on your jacket, but you'd have to remember to unplug before you walked into the pub

I'm sure Neka could find several orifices to place it !

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if this sort of lighting is legal as such for road use... if used say inside the fairing or underneath pointing to the road?? Not sure if it makes any difference but looking at blue which obviously is not a used colour for traffic signals?

Hi sarakoth - belated welcome to the asylum. As far as I know you must only show white light to the front of a vehicle i.e. headlight/parking light/white reflector & only red light to the rear i.e tail light/brake light/red reflector. Orange clearance lights/reflectors are permitted to the sides of vehicles & as turn signals front & rear. Can't see why you couldn't use blue lights under seat tail or within fairing as long as it's an indirect light source. Cheers, Ron.

Thankyou...
Been riding a an ER6F for about 18 months now... am a member of the ninja650 forum based in the states but found this forum when doing a google search for something and thought I should join up!
So how would I go about finding out what is legal in WA? I must admit it is quite likely that it is illegal here as I have only seen a few cars with undercar lighting... I was thinking of hooking them up to a small switch so I could turn them off if I saw a different kind of blue flashing light!

Try local equivalent of NSW's RTA website & look for regulations covering vehicle lighting

and if there are no references anywhere, knock yourself out with LED strips !!!
Blue looks *cool*, especially behind fairing panels where the reflected light can be seen on the motor. Up underneath the suspension is another good spot. Try not to have any visible lights, what you should aim for is 'reflected' highliting of the areas you want to light up.

I found this on the WA DPI website... 2 page info.
Vehicle Safety Branch Information Bulletin
Under-Body Lighting and other Decorative Illumination.
http://dpi.wa.gov.au/mediaFiles/lic_IB-108B.pdf
As was metnioned it seems as long as the lights do not flash and are not directly viewable in any way that they are OK.
