Firefox (Die IE) + Zone Alarm Pro + McAfee keeps my home PC clean. Heaps of torrents/dodgey websites visited, hence firefox use
Firefox (Die IE) + Corpoarte Firewall + McAfee keeps the laptop clean.
AVG is a good freebie though

Thanks for all the info guys... To be honest, downloading and running all these individual programs looked like a pain so I gave in bought Mcafee internet Security.
Checked the reviews at cnet and the ones Ronnie posted above and it should do the job... It was only $27 and is tax deductable after all...
I just hope it doesn't suck up resorces like my current E-trust software does...

I tried Mcafee years ago. It was a resource hog and it got itself so entwined that I thought I would have to burn the computer to get rid of it. Once bitten ...

Yes, it is absolutely necessary!
I use:
Antivirus = Kaspersky
Firewall = Sygate
Spyware = Windows Defender running in background, and use Spybot and sometimes Adaware.

we had AVG free and still managed to get 2 trojan worms
NOD 32 is the stuff, Ad Aware and Jettico.

I recently updated my laptop to Linux (Ubuntu distro) and it doesn't need any antivirus or firewall. Good
