The 06 Blade is a fucking magnificent motorcycle. It shits all over everything else I've ridden in just about every measurable dimension. It's comfy, outrageously powerful, handles telepathically, the frame and suspension work so perfectly that you forget they're there and the brakes have to be felt to be believed, they nearly sucked the eyeballs out of my head without ever feeling the slightest bit skittish. I clicked with it in a way that I just couldn't get from the 07 ZX10R, and while I've never ridden the Gixxer, it would have to be pretty special to knock the Blade off the top of the dais for me.
I should add, I could never own one of them; I've got no self control and the temptation to gas the bollocks off it would just be too great to resist. But it's by far the most trouser-soakingly, spastically awesome machine I've ever had the privilege to swing a leg over.
Hate the Repsol job though, makes me think of Hilbilly Hayden and Smiley Pedrosa.
