Probably bought it in the crate from Qld, and is confused by the meaning of the term "OTR" (ie. ORC). He's saved money on dealer predelivery, but he still has to pay the stamp duty and the rego.

$19,250 is about a grand too low for full retail on a current litre bike, so the grand in stamp duty and rego yet to come would fit in fine there. With that factored in, the $15,500 bike becomes about a $16,800 bike, which is about lineball for the full out-the-door cost of a litre bike...

Got a good deal on it. Was retailing for $19,250 & got a dealership in Qld
& one in SA who kept discounting until I got it down to $15,500.

Then to top it off, they beat my best insurance quote by $500 & got an after
market Micron full system for $1500. Image

Matey, if you buy a new vehicle from interstate, VicRoads must inspect vehicle
before they will issue you with a Registration. Because its a new vehicle, a RWC
was not required.

Inspection costs $32.
