Weld it and just put some washers behind where it bolds on to give you some clearance..

Well there was no way anything was going to fix the bugger, but luckily Stretchy came to the rescue with a damper off his road bike.

Exactly man. Unless you own a Mopar lol....
But yeah at the same trackday I lent a footpeg to a guy with the same model R1 coz he broke his early in the day, and he also had to ride his bike home after the trackday. The bolt holding the peg to the rear-set simply broke mid-corner!
