Summerland Way is a hoot, fast sweeping turns.
Tho the last time we came thru there there were all these home made council "watch for gravel" signs out everywhere, but no gravel.
Locals trying to stop bikers from cheese gratering themselves thru those cables on the corners?
From Beaudesert to Kyogle its ON! Some really fast stuff and some technical twisties but bumpy stuff this side of the border.

I have had lots of people warn me about the road surface.
Hopefully I will get home in one piece and post some pics up on this thread.

An update for everyone that offered advice on my Kyogle ride.....
11 hours on the bike.... Oh my aching butt!!!
I left home at 6am, went to pick a friend up (which took me an hour in the opposite direction) and ended up getting back home at 5pm!
It poured rain the whole way... I have never been SO cold in my whole life! My leathers weighed a ton- saturated through. My boots had water in them, my helmet was wet inside, my leather pants were drenched to the skin. My gloves leaked so much black dye that my hands are still black today!
The Lions Rd would have been fun if it was dry, but......
The roads had potholes and huge ruts around most of the corners, there was diesel on the road everywhere, paddocks of cattle with no fences... (hence cow crap all over the roads), and rain, rain and more rain. Rain that you couldn't see through!
We had two riders come off, and I was almost the third....
Coming through the 20- 30kmh twisties on Murwillimbah Rd, I came around a left-hand bend and spotted diesel right across my lane. I ended up over cooking the corner and hit the white line ( white line/ diesel/ rain/ corrugations in the bitumen = FUN!!!) The back end of the bike slid out, (which I managed to correct), then I lost the front! More by good luck than good management I made it through to a spot where I could pull over. The poor guy following me was as white as a sheet!
By this point my hands were so cold I couldn't feel my clutch so I used my exhaust to defrost them before heading home!
Nice ride in the dry, maybe...NEVER doing it again in the rain!

What a ride it must have been
At the end of the day comming out unscaved you can reflect on the training this has provided you for wet weather riding, pleasent or not you can get caught out at any time & the more prepared you are the better

My thoughts exactly Rob...
When I got home I was so exhausted I had a shower and crashed. I woke up in the early hours to watch the Moto GP and I wanted to do the Kyogle run again! Any ride where you make it home rubber side down is a good ride. It was great experience, as a more challenging ride than that you would be hard pressed to find.(As I said not so much the ride, but the length of the ride in those particular conditions.)
I can now testify to what a fantastic and comfortable bike my ER6F is though. If I had done that ride on my ZZR I would have been sore for a week- but today I am ready to do it all again. Adrenaline is a great thing.......
