about 45-60min to work in the cage, 20-25 on the bike (each way) coming home in the cage can vary from 45-90min on the way home depending on traffic, fridays usually being the absolute worst.

as i said, i live two suburbs over from tempe, and its a helluva trip from my place to windsor, f*k doing that twice every day, and in peak hour no less as your catching three of the major arterial roads in every area your passing through.

I'd seriously suggest either finding a job closer to home, or moving, as it'll drain your mind flat out in a matter of months. At least commuting to/from gosford/woywoy its straight highway and if you start/end REALLY early you would mostly miss the majority of the idiots on the road.

But seriously your doing things the hard way, your catching the peak flow both in AND out, had you lived at tempe and worked at windsor it'd be easier, marginally.

Ride every day... 15 min each way

Ride 5 days a week,

10-15 mins each way depending on how mental the tin-tops are that day

I'm dead set lucky, Narre Warren to Wantirna 5 days a week and if the mood takes me, it can anything from 17 minutes to well over an hour depending on which way I come home ..

Until 3 weeks ago, I rode every day. I don't own a registered car.

Now I walk for 5 minutes, which makes me a newly minted weekend rider. If my new job was a bit further away, I'd still be riding every day.

Bike time = 0.5 * car time during peak hour

Since getting my Ls I've been riding to work almost every day. Traffic in the car just shits me. If I leave after 8 am and before 9 am , it takes around an hour in the car and 30 or 35 mins on the bike.

hmm im 3km from work...so if up in time and feeling fit (not often) i ride a pushy...if i have the car i take it, if mrs has the car i ride...

takes me longer to suit up than it does to ride to work..hence the car...

I take car....4 mins drive.

Won't start bike for that.

Too lazy to walk or pushie.

i rode most days its about 30-45 min and about 26km each way, i wouldnt waste my time and money with a car and most times the traffic pretty bad and being on a bike i can use the t2 lane
alternativly if it raining and i dont feel like getting wet or have some spare money i will catch the bus this takes me about an hr 15

I'm now riding in again - Gosford to North Sydney
Just over an hour each way - 155kms round trip each day.
Much preferable to the train...

I ride every day from Quakers Hill to Chatswood - a 73km round trip, most of it on the M2. I average about 40 minutes each way, but on busy days I must save at least 30 minutes compared with taking the car in. Most of it saved by riding down the breakdown lane when the traffic backs up on the M2. A lot of bikers run down the 'Buses Only' lane, which is possibly less legal but a little safer. The other benefit of the bike is being able to park for free right outside work. It also helps if you've got a comfy easy-going bike - it wouldn't be much fun on a 600 supersport.

I cage it from Kellyville to Milperra. 40-45mins on the M7/M5 but it's cruisy (except for the M5 in the mornings). Once you start getting over an hour you really want to love your job because that' a long time commuting. Then when the traffic turns to shit it'll be a lot longer. The M4 is an absolute dog's breakfast at least one and usually two days a week so bear that in mind also.
