I do see Daune's point here, i dont think anyone would hang around waiting while there is someone walking towards you with intent to knock your block off...

I agree its these kind of bike rides that give all bike riders a bad name...aardvark wrote:FUckers. Bus drivers are simply trying to earn a living to feed their families. They have a hard enough time as it is with inconsiderate drivers cutting them off, parking in bus lanes etc.
I hope these fuckwits get what they deserve.
I can only imagine how difficult it is to drive a bus in traffic. They are professional drivers of the highest calibre as far as I am concerned. Daily peak hour traffic, large vehicle and cranky passengers would make thier job, in my opinion, one of the hardest transport jobs there is. With that in mind though, I find that when I give way to a bus there is always a hand coming out the side window with a thank you and a thumbs up even though it is a the law to give way to them.
is this the same article that was up earlier, I just re-read it and it appears to be different now, now it does look like the bike riders were over the top !
I'm not so sure if hitting your bus warrants driving over a bike, i wasn't there so i cant comment, did he try to swerve but couldn't get out without hitting it?"Two motorcycles stopped in front of the bus, forcing the bus to stop.
The riders got off their bikes and started hitting the bus, at which point the bus driver took off, dragging one of the riderless bikes under the bus for about 100m along City Road, Sen Const Hay said."
He may face driving charges.
So if you where the driver you would open the bus door to let them in? I hardly think they where hitting the bus to get him to let them in to take them to the next Suburb...wisc wrote:I'm not so sure if hitting your bus warrens driving over a bike, i wasn't there so i cant comment, did he try to swerve but couldn't get out without hitting it?"Two motorcycles stopped in front of the bus, forcing the bus to stop.

if people like that where coming to me id be scared and would rather deal with the police/insurance than the angry bikers.
guess the good news is thats one less idiot cutting off bikes in the future.
seems to me he only drive over the bike cause he was in danger though...

I think the reason bike riders get so touchy about it, is that what would be a slight bump in a car can be fatal for a biker, we don't have a cage around us, and feel more vulnerable and exposed ??? that's my guess anyway !MrsDuane wrote:Wisc - the good news isnt that there is now one less idiot willing to cut off bikes!
The bus driver MADE A MISTAKE, why do so many people on this forum have so much trouble dealing with the fact that accidents happen? That people make mistakes. You'de think NOT ONE of you people ever had an accident or near accident that was your own fault because YOU stuffed up.
Its the same thing with you all wanting them to charge that truckie with murder because he cut in front of the bike, he made a mistake. A single moment of concentration laps, and you have him locked up forever? Like he isnt feeling crap enough already!
Riding a bike doesnt mean your the only people in the world with the right to make a mistake every now and then!
It has probably been updated as more info came through - yes it would be the same articleWoody69 wrote:is this the same article that was up earlier, I just re-read it and it appears to be different now, now it does look like the bike riders were over the top !

Yeah but is that anyreason to stop your bike in front of a bus, hop off and start bashing someone?Woody69 wrote:I think the reason bike riders get so touchy about it, is that what would be a slight bump in a car can be fatal for a biker, we don't have a cage around us, and feel more vulnerable and exposed ??? that's my guess anyway !MrsDuane wrote:Wisc - the good news isnt that there is now one less idiot willing to cut off bikes!

Not Usually, but maybe the bike rider felt his life had been unnecessarily endangered buy the driver, then the adrenalin kicks in, and he loses it ???Draven wrote:Yeah but is that anyreason to stop your bike in front of a bus, hop off and start bashing someone?Woody69 wrote:I think the reason bike riders get so touchy about it, is that what would be a slight bump in a car can be fatal for a biker, we don't have a cage around us, and feel more vulnerable and exposed ??? that's my guess anyway !MrsDuane wrote:Wisc - the good news isnt that there is now one less idiot willing to cut off bikes!
