It is only Brisbane, Towoomba and western Qld that have a crisis. (maybe a few other areas) Sunshine & Gold coasts have near full reserves. No problems in FNQ either.

Brisbane gets what it deserves :P :P

Hands off our water  (as I hose down my driveway and wash my car) :P

Shouldn't all waste water be treated anyway rather than polluting the oceans?

Yeah, it is all treated. I think the waste product gets sold to be made into fertilizer. It's just that the treatment process for producing drinking water is even better and produces cleaner water (kidney dialysis quality).
i've got the full economic report of WASTE MANAGEMENT from the commission anyone interested to read?

Got 3 water tanks at my place, hardly use the tap water for drinking anyway.
Numskulls didn't plan their infrastructure requirements sufficiently, let's put a dam in to stop a 1 in 100 year flood event (re 1974 floods).

Let's not actually THINk about where the rain falls, or anything remotely sensible until it's too late....

I'm all for water recycling. It is about time the government pulled their collective fingers out, realised that there is a problem, and did something about it. We have a benchtop Sunbeam water filter/chiller which filtrates tap water beautifully, so I can't see that my water drinking habits will change after recycling begins.

That's a nice comment Jonno! I'll be coming to your place to drink your water and wash my bike when we run out.

Spot on Jonno except for the Fact that the gold coast has been buying BCC water for the last 3 years & still were late last year (after Hinz Damn was at @90% )as Mr Beattie didnt want to give up his little "Wet cash cow" till things got "HOT"

I'd rather sip poo then spend an absolute fortune on Desalination

I reckon the Victorian sales of bottled water will spike straight after each GP. There will be a Neka Piss alert set up on the news channels.

on a serious note, 3/4 of the world drinks bottled water. who cares about the minority.

maybe we should do a poll to see who drinks bottled water and who drinks tap water.
