True, nut have you tried buying a PS3?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the novelty of the Wii remote will last no longer than 12 months, then people will be sick of the "old-gen" graphics and typical Nintendo 3 year old game play and Nintendo will go the way of Sega.

It'll be sad, but it'll happen.
It is sad, and I think you are right - it will happen......I used to love my SNES !! ( and the NES before that)......

but its Sony all the way now, esepcially with Blu-Ray on board.......sure it costs a few bob more than the others, but for what you get, its actually cheaper than upgrading any other console....

PS3 is already on lay-by......its only 3 months to go.... :P :P

Well, I reckon it'll be an interesting couple of years. I have a sneaking suspicion that the 360 might give the PS3 a run for its money.

I reckon the Nintendo is still going to be huge in 2 years time primarily because it's different. We will see how trends develop properly in 3-4 motnhs when PS3 is out for sure but given they missed the christmas period I reckon the saales are going to be a tad slower than either the 360 or Wii have done so far.

And yes you pay big$ for a sim of a game that costs $12 but you can do it from home, that's the key :D

PS and x-box just keep pumping out more of the same old games that I played on pc years ago... yay another shooter or another car game.
98% of the games are boring rehashes.

nintendo usually put out a few more interesting titles. good to see someone doing something different instead of following the same old recipe to make money!

It's a shame people seem to like eye candy over game play.

Current world wide sales figures have sales sitting as follows:

Xbox 360: 8,723,037
Wii: 1,817,352
PS3: 481,071

Keep in mind that the majority of the PS3 sales have been in Japan as Sony struggled to get any reasonable amount of stock to market.

The 360 has a 12 month head start.

Dud call of the century I reckon - the Wii itself may not be ultimately hugely successful, but Nintendo's aim and attitude is spot on. There is *no* upper limit if you chase the graphical technology route, whichever company is the biggest spender will probably win in that scenario. Nintendo knows it can't compete on that market any more with Sony and MS spending unbelievably massive sums of money and bleeding millions. Nintendo has specifically decided to play a more innovative route with their game play and the way the computer game system is played. The 'novelty' of the controller will wear off about as quickly as the 'novelty' of fancy graphics will. What is important is the developers supporting the system and developing and pushing the system and it's capabilities as far as it can go - as a game *playing* system - not a graphics processor.

I think if nintendo keeps innovating it will be around for a long time, and the games on nintendo will be a helluva lot more fun to play and learn than, say, Final Fantasy 397 or Tekken 75 : Ultra Mega Resurrection Multi-Syllable edition.

It will be released at midnight 2012 but you'll have to queue for 732 days just to get a copy and sony will release much fewer than they exect the consumers to demand to generate hype.
