If you could ride like Rossi Ok but then you would be selling your own replica leathers  . Not my type of thing, but neither is an R1  .

Hey man.... I have a Daijiro Kato replica... hmmm actually it is memorial helmet....I bought it as it was on special and $250 cheaper than the other X-11's ;)

I think those leathers look great, but no way in hell you'd get me into them.... you'd definitely be a "talking" point at all the stops though..... lol!

I'm sure most folk who buy Rossi leathers and other race replica stuff simply do so because they are fans. I don't see these people as 'try hards' at all.

It's just a sign of respect or admiration - a bit like wearing your favourite footy team's jersey.

My Favourite Helmet still to this day (and I still have it in it's bag tucked away nearly pristine) is my Giancarlo Fallappa Replica FM Helmet. It looks like a tiger.

For those who don't remember Giancarlo Fallappa, he rode WSBK's for Ducati in the Doug Polen Era and before. He is also famous for a big crash he had at the Island. You may have seen old footage or old pics of this. But he lost it coming onto the straight. He fell off, but his bike continued along on its wheels. It ran alongside pit wall, eventually grinding it enough to cause sparks and catch on fire. It continued upright and moving while alight all the way down the chute hugging the pit wall eventually stopping just either at the end or just after it, I can't remember. But it was pretty speccy!!!!!

I reckon you could get away with it on one condition.

Get around Phillip Island in under 1.31. Anything less and you claim grand tosser rights, or you have an R1 in the Garage with about 3 cm's of unused tyre.

I always loved the Mick Doohan ARAI helmet......... But by the time I could afford one, they stopped selling them :(

Arai still seems to make one.... but its not the same helmet at all... the design has changed....
