As if the victorian deaths wasn't enough, have a read at this

http://townsvillebulletin.news.com.au/c ... 21,00.html
THREE road fatalities, including two motorcyclists, have taken Western Australia's road toll to the worst in five years.

One horror crash saw a rider and his bike dragged under a four-wheel-drive for more than 250 metres before the car stopped.

It is understood the woman driver if the car was reaching for a cigarette and did not see the motorcyclist.

The rider, a 23-year-old man, was mowed down from behind as he rode along Central Ave, in Mt Lawley, at 10.30pm on Friday night.

This poor bugger's message to us all...
Pay as much attention to your mirrors as you do the road ahead.

Ride defensive over the silly season folks ! Assume every driver around you is pissed and fiddling with their new GPS, phone, ipod, DVD player, friend...

The other thing that should be noted is that if riders keep comming off in our favorite areas such as reefton, black spur etc, then it just gives the cops insentive to hound us,and this WILL definatly happen.

Nah mate i read the lot
most Riders seem to think there great riders
the famous last words are normally "but we've ridden that road a thousand times" or i never thought it would happen to him

mate each to their own
ride how you like
but don't Gee up others .......... impressing mates seems to kill alot of riders
No Disrespect Lucas, however I am pretty sure, that this is what "Don't let the red mist descend over the visor means"??????? Maybe you didn't read it all!!!!!

One thing I always attempt to do when riding, is imagine that the other road users cannot see me. By doing this, it forces me to have not only more thorough and further vision, it also enables me to calculate two or three escape possibilities for every scenario. As, touch wood, I havn't been involved in a tin top interaction since 198........something,...... then I reckon it works OK so far. :D

One thing I see a lot of this time of year around the coast, is the obligatory sight seeing U-turners!!! These are perhaps one of the most dangerous, and can perform U-turns, at the most rediculous places without any intent to ensure the road is clear! I had one on Friday coming back from Sydney perform a U-turn across a 110klm Dual lane freeway with about 5 cars and a truck bearing down on them! The truck was behind us and it locked up with smoke everywhere, then the four cars went everywhich way to avoid the caravan and car, on the grass verge, in the emergency lane, and i took the centre nature divide along with one other car. The U-turning caravan just smiled and waved and continued on it's merry way! Nice!
