Didn't it used to be the case that the Ducatis are allowed larger inlet manifolds to be competitive in WSB ? Given a 999s output compared to a ZX10R, is that still the case?

nah, WSB started in 1988 (who remembers Flyin' Fred ?? ), and it was the early 90's that the nickname kicked off .....remember, the 916 was released in 1994  (bloody hell, 12 years ago), and prior to that, Carl Fogarty and Giancarlo Falappa had won everything on the works 888 Ducks, I think between them they won 91 through 93 ......

Somebody out there will have the WSB stats, I can't remember the WSB 'Honour Roll' off the top of my head.

Gotcha, I remember seeing nothing but a sea of Red over those couple of years.... :? Maybe the GP's will go this way if Bayliss was running as a GP starter !!!

You'll need a better excuse than that for forgetting that Scott Russell took out the 1993 title. On a Kawasaki. ;)

Falappa won a lot of races, but it was his team mates who won titles. Raymond Roche in 1990, then Doug Polen went back-to-back in 1991 and 1992 and I think it was 1993 when Falappa had his super-massive crash that put him out of action for a year, or something.

If my memory is correct Little John Kosinski won in 97 on a H H H Honda.
It wasn't until Edwards won again on a H H Honda (although a V twin) in 99 i think that anything other than a Ducati won.
The only Inline four win was in 1993 on a ZXR750 L model. Until Troy Corser last year.

At the recent Sydney Motorcycle Show I was told the S model will be here first in January at $31,000 and the base model is at the show in April $24,000. :?
